Note 25 Aug 2014    Lupin's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Owner Comment - Lupin, August 25, 2014.
One of the two memorial plaques is missing so I updated the puzzle to use only one. (I'm guessing the plaque was hit by one of the huge mowers used to keep the grass in check.)
I also made a path so it is a little easier to get to the cache so no bush whacking is required. Walk around the woods and approach the cache from the North.

Note 08 May 2010    Lupin's Treasure II  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Thank you dzwalker for finding this great spot and placing the cache. Guys like you and Tamawalker make this fun!

Note 01 May 2010    Lupin's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

I checked things out and everything is just the way it should be. Restocked with Japanese items again.

I found it! 12 Oct 2008    Blind Man's Bluff  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Today was an absolutely gorgeous day. The leaves were turning, the sky was clear and blue, and the water was so clear we could see far out into the lake. Thank you for showing this place to us. We never knew the Bluffs were here. It has to be one of the best kept secrets in the area.
Took nothing, Left two Japanese foot warmers.

Note 26 Dec 2004    Lupin's Treasure  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

I visited the cache today and restocked it with Japanese items: New Year Soap Set, New Year Towel, Child's chopsticks, Oshibori(disposable hand towels), Good Luck charm.
The disposable camera was finished so I took it and will replace it soon.

Happy New Year!

I found it! 18 Apr 2004    Subway Cache  ( Difficulty: 3.5    Terrain: 3.5 )

What a cool find! We've had our eyes on this one for a while now but waited for some warmer weather before we tried it out. On the way in we passed some graffiti artists doing their thing on the Broad St. bridge. Very creative stuff. Before we got two much farther we met up with another group of adventurers looking for company, so we all headed off into the hole together. With eight people and one dog we figured we were ready for anything. Logbook is in good shape in new hiding spot. We'll be heading down there again!

Note: The logbook was moved from the hiding place described. See the March 30, '04 entry by Brogan on gecaching.com for a description of where the log is now.

I found it! 07 Jun 2003    Tamarck Swamp Cache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found this one with Bear-ied Cache during the NY-GO picnic event.
The moss on the ground was like a soft carpet and the fragrance of honeysuckle made this a great walk.
Thanks for introducing us to the area.
P.S. We really enjoyed meeting the Wheelygood family today!

Note 06 Jun 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Barb and I will be there about 1:00! We'll be bringing fruit and some Japanese coins for the little cachers!

We're looking forward to putting faces to the names we've seen while caching.

I found it! 16 May 2003    Escape  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

We live nearby and couldn't resist checking this one out - even with the rain. At least it wasn't cold!
"Neither rain, nor sleet..."
We took the penny and left some Japanese tissues and 55 yen in Japanese coins. That stands for good luck.

A shower will feel good tonight.
Thanks for the hide.

I found it! 16 May 2003    CARON S CACHE  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

You meet the nicest people while caching! We crossed paths with Caron while searching for the "Escape" cache.
This one is nearby and we found it with a little help. The coordinates put me in the open field about 30 feet away.
Took nothing; left some Japanese tissues and a handwarmer for those cold winter nights.

Thanks for the hunt.

I found it! 01 Apr 2003    Global Geocache (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What a nice idea for a cache!
Maybe the next visitor can tell us how many countries are represented
in your box. I brought a visitor from Japan with me and introduced him
to geocaching. I think I may have a convert!
I left some Japanese coins and two handwarmers. Took nothing but memories.
Lupin (and Wenbin)

I found it! 05 Jan 2003    Message in a Bottle  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

No wind, plenty of sunshine, and perfect snow made this area a "winter wonderland". Great hiding spots. We never realized the park was so big.
We took a measuring tape and traded 2 Where's George dollars. Left Care Bear stickers, and Post it notes and the Lilliput Yellow Cache travel bug.
Thank you for a nice walk on a beautiful day.

I found it! 05 Jan 2003    A Hawks View  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We found the cache at 2:00 after a challenging 30 minute search of the area. The can was hidden by several inches of snow under some brances. We put it back in the crotch of a tree with coordinates close to the original.
We added 2 Where's George bills, and a package of cell phone wrist straps and took a picture as well as about a pound of snow down my back -inside my jacket.
Quinn, thank you for introducing us to so many beautiful places. The snow, temperature, and sunshine made this a perfect day for a walk in the woods.

I found it! 01 Jan 2003    Huckleberry Island  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

This was a great way to start the new year. We had a nice hike in and found the cache at 3:30pm with minimal searching. Thank you for the suggestion that we take a waypoint upon entering the woods. Had we not, we might still be there.
Two deer ran by as we were making the log book entry - I'm not sure who was startled more. They snorted - we yelped.
Took the Lilliput yellow cache travel bug 308609 and left handwarmers.
Thanks for an exciting outing.

I found it! 30 Dec 2002    Winged Things  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Beautiful spot with winged things all around. Saw an Estes rocket nose cone and parachute high up in the trees- Another type if winged thing?
Previous person left a travel bug - Tricerezz - which is still there, waiting for the next visitor.
Unfortunately, the single use camera was out of film so I could not take a picture.
Took nothing, left nothing but a small prayer and an angel in the snow at the first site.
Thank you for the outing.

I found it! 30 Dec 2002    Watership Down  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The cats guarding the first clue were a bit bedraggled but the snow made up for that. Actually, the snow made the entire hunt a little challenging but when we found the caches the excitement certainly outweighed the difficulties. We found it at 4PM just minutes after it began to rain, and as the sky grew darker, Lupin realized that he had not marked the waypoint for the parking lot! That added to the excitement. Took a photo, a flashlight, and left an Easter Bunny magnet and a rabbit chopstick rest. We managed to make it back before we were totally soaked.
We really appreciated the effort you put into this cache. The presentation of the clues at the first and second points was super! Thank you for the adventure. Lupin

I found it! 22 Dec 2001    Pink Panther  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Our First Geocaching Outing - We found the cache using a USGS map! It is the weekend before Christmas and an absolutely beautiful day. The sun is shining, there's no snow. Finding your cache made it an even better day. The whole family went and enjoyed the trip. We left a Norman Rockwell picture book, and a scarf in case someone is cold. We took the screwdriver set and will think of you whenever we use them. Thank you for sharing your spot and introducing us to this fun sport.
Maybe Santa will bring us a GPS this year! ;-)
