I found it! 06 Jul 2005    Ducks Everlanding  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

This cache required some thinking! Once we knew we were on the right track we found it readily. **We did notice the Cache Camera is full.** I, Bearpaw tried to bike down that one hill and almost made into the canal!!!! Anyhow, thanks for the hide. Bikes made a big difference.

My sidekick is spending the week with me. So in celebration, we decided to revisit Sampson State Park. This marks our third visit. We brought our bikes and food to eat. This was our first of three caches in this park. It didn't take us long to find it. We signed the logbook. Great place. We've been here before when we were site-seeing!

I am in the Navy so I brought 2 MRE's to cook up and eat. My sidekick had Beef Teryaki and I had Tortellini with Cheese. Good stuff! And while we were eating, the guy done fron us caught a Pickeral Pike!

I found it! 21 Jun 2005    Monkey Do  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

It turned out to be a nice grand day for caching. We did a nearby cache and decided to hit this one as well. I've driven by this area to go to the mall for the last 10 years and never once did we realize this trail existed! We brought our bikes so we didn't have to huff it on foot. We got to the area in question and found it easily. We then headed home for dinner. Great day! Great hide!

Happy Father's Day to all fathers who love their sons or daugthers with all their heart!!!!!!

I found it! 18 Jun 2005    Logos on Logs  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2.5 )

Ok, so we started to make our way up the trail and before we both know it, we've found the cache!! Yeah!! We totally missed the micro's. We tried to backtrack to see if we could find them but we couldn't. We noticed there was another cache in the area. We'll come back some other time and try it. Thanks for the hide.

I found it! 06 Jun 2005    Kitty Cache  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

After a "no-find" on this one, I decided to tackle it again. No problems this time! I found it with ease. I signed the logbook. Anyways, I hear thunder so I am gonna scram! Nice hide!

I found it! 21 Apr 2005    On Top of an Esker  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

I was going to go for a jog, but instead I decided to tackle this cache. I figured with the difficulty rating it would be a challange. Anyways, I used the cache -n- go cords, which by the way, was impossible to get to unless you go through private property. I ended up going through a deadend driveway to get to the area. I had to rough through a few very big hills and some flat terrian to get to the cache. My GPS lost single a couple of times and I had to wait for 5 minutes at one point to regain my single. Finally I made my way towards the cache location. I came within 6 feet of it and spotted it right away. I signed the log and snapped a pic using the kodak inside the cache box. It was a very good workout!! My sidekick wasn't on this one. Too dificult for the little guy.

I found it! 20 Apr 2005    Oz (Part One) - Emerald City  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

We had started this one the day before. We headed to our next cords. It wasn't long before we found it. joedude and zachdude tagged along for the cache as well as my sidekick. Nice hide.

I found it! 19 Apr 2005    The Gambler  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

WOW! Finally got this one done. Man we walked right by it the other day. We were near another cache and we didn't even know it was there. Our cords were off at first but then we rechecked our math and found our problem. It was a sunny 80 degree evening and we did this one with one of my sidekick's friends. The cache was water-logged. Things inside were really wet. I noticed the kodak in the cache was full as well. It was a nice adventure. Thanks!

Note 10 Sept 2004    Masseth's journey  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

Well I got off work early today and thought of taking on this cache. I drove to the area in question and started for the spot. I spotted the name behind the cache. It turned out to be a good clue. I had to wonder a bit because the GPS was giving a hard time. I finally spotted it. It was very well hidden and the recent rains covered it up with leaves. Signed the logbook. I didn't take anything but left behind TB "The Keys". The bugs weren't to bad but the squirrel above me was rightfully angered. I seemed to have come across his domain! The walk back was all down hill!(LOL)

Hi Aj!!!!!
Love ya buddy!!! Bearpaw

Note 05 Sept 2004    Williamson Park Micro  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

Hello everyone,
The cache has been relocated and revised. PLEASE re-read the listing. I also had to increase the difficulty a tad. The area previously used was constantly overwhelmed with VERY curious little muggles. The new location is not far from the original spot. I checked, double-checked, and re-checked the coordinates for accuracy. I don't think this one will disappear. Have fun with it!

PS - Let me know if the hints were of any help...

I found it! 29 Aug 2004    Casey's Joy Returns  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

It was starting to get really humid. Nevertheless, we headed out to Casey Park. They've really done alot to this park. There's a little league baseball field with benches and even a commentators stand. Anyways, we parked in the back and rode our bikes to the cache area. There's a nice trail that runs the length of the man-made pond. We put on bug sray before entering. We had to look around for a short time before finding it. The GPS was erratic. Bearcub traded a football card for a mario-cart. We also put "Rainbow the Sneeky Snake" TB #460327 in the cache and took with us "The Keepers Keys" TB #458276. Hi Deltateam!!!

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 29 Aug 2004    White Brook  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

It was the beginning of a hot humid day. We set out early to tackle this cache. We found the parking area and decided to walk to the cache rather than bike it. Bearcub says it's good exercise. We walked the trails and came across ALOT of frogs and even a baby snapping turtle(thank god!). I'm sure the mommy turtle was around somewhere so we moved on. We practically walked right up to the cache. Bearcub traded a stoplight for a magic towel. We also grabbed TB "Rainbow the Sneeky Snake". On our way back we passed by a swamp and it looked like we spooked a snapping turtle. Bearcub wasn't to thrilled and asked that we leave quickly. I explained to him about this type of turtle and we watched quietly to see if he'd surface again so we could see him. He didn't, so we moved on. This is a very nice area. Nice hide!

I found it! 22 Aug 2004    Crescent Hill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Took by bike into the trails to do this one. It wasn't to bad until I had to get off the trail and walk to the cache. It took me some time to find it. The GPS was jumping all around. I did find it. I had to read the listing 3 times. It was thick as heck in here!! Oh and I realized the warning about the poison ivy the third time I read it when I was like 10 feet away from the cache! Hope I don't get any rashes! Just a note to the hiders, you may want to increase the difficulty by 1 1/2. 2.5 is whart I thought it should be. Traded nothing. My sidekick was here in spirit today.

Bearpaw

I found it! 22 Aug 2004    Joannes Trek  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This was the fourth of the caches I did in the Powder Mills Park Area. I acutally did this cache while looking for (Adirondack Journey). The GPS in this area very jumpy. The cache was off the trail a bit and none of the picture hints were helpful. Gary may want to update these pic's. Anyways, it took me 30 minutes to find it. I noticed that the kodak was full so I couldn't take a pic of myself! Gary might want to replace it. Very nice hide. Traded nothing. My sidekick was here in spirit today.

Bearpaw

I found it! 21 Aug 2004    Wadham's Walk  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 3 )

This was the third of the caches I did in the Powder Mills Park Area. I found the parking spot best suited for this hunt. I had to climb steep turrain to get to this cache. I was shocked to find the the cache box lay right out in the open! I made no trades. I re-hide the cache box so that it was not in plain view. My sidekick was here in spirit today.

I found it! 09 Aug 2004    Hot Wheels  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

This marks our 7th of 10 caches in the Lockport area. We had just gotten done doing "stumpy". We headed down the path with our bikes. Gosh did those bikes ever save us time. We made through to the area in question. Again the GPS was jumping all around us. Then we spotted it! Nice place!! Bearcub signed the logbook and we traded an orange hotwheel for a purple trike.

I found it! 01 Aug 2004    Art Walk  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Well after 8 long months, we decided to tackle our "no-finds". We took a break from the caches that are emmersed in thorns and ivys. I think it was our learning experience over past months that made this cache a success. I'm not kindin' when I say to y'all that we found this cache inside of 60 seconds!!!! We planned on spending an hour trying to look for this one, so Bearcub asked if he could playground. I sat on the bench. Just then a squirrel ran out from underneath the play area. He stopped not 5 feet from me and stared me dead in the face. Then he took a few more steps and jumped onto the bench right near me!! He looked me dead in the face again!! He then ran up a tree as we left the area to search for another "no-find". It was a georgous morning and it couldn't be any better.
Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 01 Aug 2004    No Compromise No. 3  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

I think the skies were clear. That's why we found this earlier "no-find" in less than 5 minutes. The GPS accuracy was astounding. What was more astounding is that we were able to spot the cache!!! Nice camo job!!! We logged our find. It was a georgous morning.

OH, THIS IS TIME FOR CELEBRATION!!! THIS CACHE MARKS OUR 60TH FIND!!! YEAH, LETS HAVE A PARTY!!!

I found it! 25 Jul 2004    Goose Poop Trail  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1.5 )

Well, the gps was giving us a hard time. We got to the area in question and were very carefull not to walk into poison ivy. We were getting hot in our jeans. Bearcub and I finally got to the spot. Our gps read 2 feet. So we started to look around. It was real thick in here but it wasn't going to stop us. Bearcub finally spotted it! "Great going son!!" We were pressed for time, so Bearcub signed the logbook and we took off. No Trades today.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 01 Jul 2004    No Compromise No. 4  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

We read the listing and got hints from all over the place. Just before tackling this one again, we ran into a fellow cacher. "Car2" was his name. He gave us some hints to help us on our find. We got to the area in question and started our search. This time we were more coordinated. It took us about 10 minutes to find it. but it took us an additional 10 minutes to get to it because of all the muggles in the area. I finally got it and logged our find. Took a couple of personal pics for our refrence. Success!!! We hit Abbottes nearby in celebration of our find. Clever hide. Too bad there were some unsportsman-like cachers to ruin the hide to some extent. The CHALLENGE is what makes the hunt exciting.

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    RIP Billy Bones  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

This marks our seventh and last cache of the day here at Sampson State Park. It was a great day and it was great to ride our bikes throughout the park. Imagine walking!! We were really beat by now. We couldn't wait to get to this one and head home. I think in all we traveled about 24 miles today. We took breaks and had lunch on the dock. It was a great day for father and son. Made our way down a long path then down a small hill into the valley. It wasn't too bad. Bearcub traded a toy lion for a photo album. We also grabbed the travel bug alien #427481. Nice hide.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Captain Flint  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This marks our sixth of seven caches. We had to ride around on our bikes for a while to find the road that lead us to this hide. We stumbled upon a cemetary and then a waste treatment plant. Pics are included. We finally got there and might I say that was clever. You had us going there for a bit. Bearcub and I were starting to get worn down so we finally made our way toward the cache and signed the logbook and got out toward our last cahe of the day. Nice hide.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Petey's Plunder  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

This was our first of seven caches we did in this area. We visited the park last year, but we did not know that there were caches hiding here and i did not have a GPS at the time. This was a nice easy first find. Bearcub traded a army soldier for a spongebob pencil.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Night Reflections (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

This was our second cache of seven today. We tackled this one during broad daylight!! We were exited to find this one only to realize we had to get to the second part! This find was intense and took us farther than we thought. We did eventually get to the cache. Bearcub grabbed the cache box only to realize it was covered in ants! Yeah, the box was sitting right on top of an ant hill. You should have seen the dance. LOL. Very clever hide from start to finish. Bearcub traded sunglasses for star stickers.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Red Dog's Revenge  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

This was our third of seven caches today. This was a great white challenge. It took us a while to get to it. Was a nice hide. Bearcub traded a football card for a cross. Took

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Pieces of 8  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

This was our forth of seven caches today. We had to spend some time finding a way into the area in question. Very thick stuff this time of year. Once we got there, we worked our way around the bend and made our way down the valley. Finally!!! Bearcub traded a spider for a yo-yo. However, before putting the spider in the cachebox, Bearcub put the spider on my head as I was logging the cache and decided to snap a few pics. Ha-ha. Was a nice hide.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 30 Jun 2004    Petey's Keep Out Place I  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2 )

This was our fifth cache of seven today at Sampson State Park. We headed down the path and around. We ended up on the shore of the lake. We headed back up a different path and stopped briefly to get out sense of direction. Bearcub then said, "Dad what are those bugs in the trees". I looked at them and followed it down to a tree not more than 7 feet in front of us. HOLY CATS!!! A huge bee hive!! I said, "Ok lets get out of here!" We had to go up the path which was right next to the hive. We made it back on the main drag safe and sound, went back to the orininal entrance and walla. It was right there. We signed the log and traded nothing. No bee stings today...

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 27 Jun 2004    Cache KaBoom  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 2.5 )

I had to keep cool at times as people were walking the trails all around me. I finally found the first part and quickly headed towards the second part. It didn't take me long to find this part. I was really hesitent of going in and getting the cache. It was thick and looked like it was crawling with Poison Ivy. (Me and that stuff don't get along). Traded a tape measure for a hotwheel. Bearcub was here in spirit today.

Bearpaw

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    I Heard it on the Grapevine  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

This cache marks the fourth of five we did in this area. We talked to a park official before heading towrds it. We rode our bikes as far as we could until we had to walk, sometimes crouch, towards the cache. The GPS took us directly to it. We traded a pair of sunglasses for a yo-yo. The way back was tough. We made our way out of the woods and biked our way out of the park. Nice hide... Nice park...

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    Ripple  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This marks the first of five caches we did in this area. We visited the Genesee Counrty Museum and hit some caches here as well. Nice hide!! Very Clever. We looked for it for a while. Went on to the second part and that was pretty simple. We traded our raincoat for the small deck of cards. Oh, we also took with us "creepy lizard" the travel bug.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    Along Oatka Trail  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

This was our third of five in the area. We rode our bikes to the area of the cache. We had to back-track and realized we had passed right by it! We can see what it meant when the water levels rise. We traded a hotwheel ripper for tic-tac's. Nice hide-great spot!!!

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    The Old Boneyard  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

This marks our fifth and final cache of the day. This also marks the first time we searched for and found all five caches. We were visiting the Genesee Country Museum and decided to tackle some caches in the area. What a pleasure it was to travel here with our bikes in toe! We rode where ever we could. This place was not the place for bikes. after reading the the hints and finally getting them, we walked to the area. It took us some time to find it. The GPS was jumping in this area. We'd be 4 feet from it one second then 110 feet the next! Anyway, We finally came across it. It was starting to get dark and the bug spray was wearing off as well. We signed the log quickly and traded a bone pen for a police car. We took some pics for y'all to gaze at and got the heck out before the bugs ate us alive. My sidekick wasn't to kean on the fact that they were pretty big around these parts. Nice hide. Took pride in the Veterans that were placed here.

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 05 Jun 2004    Gypsum Mine II  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

This was our second of five in this area. We rode our bikes as far as we could then walked the rest of the way to the cache. We looked for some time before we found it. We traded a football card for a hotwheel.

I found it! 30 May 2004    Lost Treasure  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 2 )

This Cache was a cache hidden when I was part of Deltateam. My sidekick who still belongs to Deltateam asked me to find it. We did. We were off by a little at first but then back-tracked and found it. Hi Deltateam!!!

Note 21 May 2004    2004 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I found it! 16 May 2004    Highland Park Cache (ARCHIVED)  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

Since I was visiting the Lilac Festival, I decided to tackle 3 out of the 4 caches in the area. This one was the first. The day had cleared up and the park was spralling with people and pets. I had brought my mountain bike with me to make the task easier. I found this nice hide pretty quickly. The squirrel the roams the area was no where in sight (THANK GOD!!) I signed the logbook. Bearcub wasn't with me this time around but he was here in spirit. Now on to my second cache....

Bearpaw

I found it! 16 May 2004    Warning (I Shall Wear Purple)  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

This last of three caches was the most demanding. I put my moutain bike to the trst and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. I found this last cahe easily. I took a pic from the kodak and then from my digital. I signed the log and took nothing nor left nothing. Bearcub was here in spirit. Nice hide!!

Bearpaw

I found it! 24 Apr 2004    No Compromise No. 1  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 1 )

Well, that was a clever hide. My eye just happended to look into that direction and "WAL-LAA", we found it!! My sidekick had to wait for the right time to get to it. We signed the log book and headed for No. 2 in the series. Nice hide...

Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 24 Apr 2004    No Compromise No. 2  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1 )

We looked and looked and then we looked again. And when we could look no more... well, we looked again. And... our persistance paid off! What a clever hide this was. Nice deal with the numbers. We signed the log and headed for No. 3 in the series.
Bearpaw & Bearcub

I found it! 18 Apr 2004    Egyptian Hike  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well after the storm, I decided to hit the caches. I did a cache nearby, so I decided to tackle this one as well. The storm made it pretty hard to get to. I had put on my big boots to make it through the wetlands. I had to cross a creek by walking on a fallen branch. I should have taken my time because the branh busted and I went into a foot and a half of water! No biggy, I trucked on toward the cache. I had to zig-zag a bit but finally found it. I took pic number 34 from the kodak, which needs to be replaced soon, and took a digital pic of my own for y'all to gaze at. Bearcub was with me in spirit. Great Hide. Two for two today.

Bearpaw

I found it! 17 Apr 2004    Issaquah In Perinton  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

The rain finally stopped when I got here. I must admit I almost didn't do it. It was just to wet and the water levels were to high. But then I Remembered the Hinge Thunder is very clever. I worked around the problem and got to the cache site. My boots were just high enough to cross the wet lands. I Signed the log book and traded some bubble gum for a hotwheel. I also took a couple of pics for y'all to gaze at. Very nice... very clever... Bearcub was here in spirit.

Bearpaw

I found it! 17 Apr 2004    THe Bluebird Angel  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I was in the area doing another cache, so I stopped and did this one as well. It was a nice day but the area was muddy and wet. I should have brought my boots. Anyway, I got to the cache easily and signed the log. I traded some bubble gum for a fake apple(don't ask). Bearcub was here in spirit....

PS - Hi Aj!!!!!!!

I found it! 27 Mar 2004    Brandi's Buzzard Bate  ( Difficulty: 2    Terrain: 2 )

42 degrees and partly cloudy on this day. What a cool find!! We stumbled upon a dead skunk. YUK! but, we found the cache not more than 15 feet from the dead animal. We saw 4 trains go by while we were on the hunt. One of them was an Amtrak doing about 70 miles an hour!! Bearcub traded a football card for Tic Tacs. Had a nice time here.

I found it! 03 Jan 2004    Maple Grove Cache  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Bearcub here:
We parked on the side of the road 200ft from the cache. We walked down a stony path and Bearpaw went up the hill but then he noticed he was in he wrong area, so we went back up the path a little farther and the cache was right there under a flat rock.

I found it! 23 Nov 2003    Tamarck Swamp Cache  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

Was a warm 60 degree November day when we did this cache!! My sidekick Bearcub had a friend come along for the first time. His name is Jacob and he had lots of fun. The cache was simple and the view was even better. Have a couple of pics for ya'll to look at.

I found it! 22 Nov 2003    MOTHER-IN-LAWS WALK  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Was an awesome day to take a walk with my sidekick Bearcub. We came across the cacher's "The-Ukes". They were nice and friendly and stuck around to do another cache togther. It was a pleasure to have met them.

PS- this cache was waterlogged due to the weather and all. did the best to log our entry. Camera may also have kicked the bucket! Just the same, we had fun!!!

I found it! 15 Jun 2003    Dino #1  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1.5 )

My sidekick & I found this cache earlier while on our bikeride prior to brunch, but we had no pen to sign the log! However, later on in the evening after I dropped off my sidekick, I stopped by again, this time with a pen, and logged our find. My sidekick bearcub was there in spirit.

I could not have asked for a better day to do this cache with my son on Father's Day. It was a glorious, sunny morning. Thank's son for everything & thanks for the card.

I found it! 23 May 2003    The Tao of Funky Monkey  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Well, this was in interesting one. We got to within 90 feet of the cache, however, we had to cross a creek to get there! We looked all around to find a bridge across, but did not find one. We found a couple of small trees stretching cross an area. In the process of crossing, bearcub and I slipped and fell in the creek!!! Yuck!!! Once we got across, it didn't take us long to find it. Entered our log, took a necklace and left a spider. Our way back across the creek was a little easier and got the heck out of there. Had quite an experience and was quite funny once we got to the car.

Note 23 May 2003    2003 New York Area Cachers Picnic!  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I don't see a problem. I should be there. I may even be there with my sidekick bearcub! I'll bring the venison jerky!!

I found it! 10 May 2003    Hey Mom & Dad give us the GPS  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Alright! My sidekick bearcub strikes again! I walked right by it but bearcub's nose walked right up to it! Was tough gettin to it, but easy gettin out. Again, was a georgous day out and no mosquitos around. Left zero, took zero. Nice hide!
