I found it! 28 Apr 2003    Secret of Connemara  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Yes!!! We finally figured it out!!! We solved Clue 1 fairly quickly, but we had to resort to Clue 2 to make any further progress (which required a trip to Connemara and a fix of the original "virtual" by Scout). Somehow both of us had missed an introduction to the key part of solving this cache during our childhoods, so we thought we were stuck. After a "Doh Moment" for which even Homer Simpson would be proud, we brute forced our way to the next clue. Once we solved one part, most of the rest then quickly fell into place. We still needed some additional info. We could not find what we needed on the web and the local libraries in our area did not seem to have what we needed, so I raced to the local Barnes and Noble before they closed tonight. I found what I needed and raced home. Thundering typhoons! A latitude and a longitude!

Thanks for yet another wonderful puzzle cache.

I found it! 17 Apr 2003    Two Fathoms  ( Difficulty: 5    Terrain: 2.5 )

Sweet success!! This was a fantastic cache....the hardest of the various puzzle caches (at least for us) that we have done in the DFW area so far. We found the first three parts on a beautiful day in March over spring break. We especially enjoyed the first two locations. We then began a long period of throwing ideas back and forth and intermittent head scratching as we tried to decipher the clues. As it turned out we had almost everything, but could not quite put it all together. Last weekend we went on an exploration to the area of the final location, but that didn't help. We finally resorted to begging Scout for a hint. (Yea, it felt like cheating, but what were we to do??) It turned out we had gotten too cute with one of the hints (or perhaps copied it down wrong?!). That hint was key to putting everything else together. Once we figured that out, we were able to calculate the final coordinates. Off we went tonight....and sure enough there it was. We left a miniature frog from Code Poet's growing frog collection. Not sure if it is a Jumping Frog or not. Took nothing. Thanks for a fantastic cache. It was great fun. BTW...there is an additional group that signed the log but has not logged it here.

I found it! 21 Mar 2003    Distance Caching 101  ( Difficulty: 4.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

Found all but the last part online. Finally gave up and visited the physical site when we were in the area today. Turned out to be the perfect place to visit on the first day of spring. Thanks for a great cache.
