It Rolls Downhill

CACHE LOGS - May contain hints(spoilers)!   decode

I found it! 07 Sept 2004    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

A moving cache has gotta move. So it moved.
New coords: N 30 21.739, W097 48.641. Enjoy the hunt.

Note 04 Sept 2004    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

It's back in action with a new container and fresh logbook:
N3022.707' W09753.904'

Let's hope it lasts longer than a few months this time...

Note 11 Jul 2004    It Rolls Downhill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

This cache is back in action. Please note: 1) You can now claim a smiley on geocaching.com for this one, see the link in the cache description. 2) The altitude restriction has been removed. No longer necessary to move it downhill every time. Place it wherever you like (in accordance with the rules). 3) Have fun!

Note 06 Mar 2004    It Rolls Downhill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Cache has been refurbished and will be redeployed (by 1PM today) at the posted coordinates:

N 30 22.272
W097 53.460
Elevation 935 Feet

First finder at this new location will receive a 'special' bonus.

Those who came to the Awards event last night know what the cache looks like now. Another incentive to show up at the caching events!

Note 05 Mar 2004    It Rolls Downhill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Cache is in the shop for routine maintenance. Will re-deploy as soon as possible.

Note 02 Mar 2004    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

The rolling blackout has been reported missing. Anyone with information on its whereabouts, please post new coordinates. Thanks...

Note 18 Feb 2004    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Note a procedural change on this cache, please post your coordinates in a new log entry, don't just edit a previous entry. The reason for this change is that Navicache doesn't send out an email to the spy list when you edit your previous log, so no one on the list gets a notification that the cache has moved. Since it's a moving cache, it's more fun if we all know when it's moved. And I'm required by Navicache now to update the coordinates after each move so if I don't get a notification I don't know the cache has been moved.

Thanks and keep on rolling!

-mark.

Note 03 Feb 2004    It Rolls Downhill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I checked on it (2:30PM) and it was still right where I put it. I could see how you'd miss it at night. At least until you know what it is, I'd suggest searching only in daylight. I took a set of coordinates and got perhaps a better mark: N30 22.290, W097 53.472. Maybe it's better, maybe not. Hints? It's on the ground, and based on the rock-turning I saw out there, I'll add that it's not a rock, and it's not under a rock. I'd say you were within 10-15 feet of it if you were the rock turner. You can see it from the trail, and you can see it from at least 20 feet away. You do not need to do any bushwhacking to find it. The view from the area is indeed fantastic. Some junior muggles building bike ramps out on the trails in the area today. Be on the lookout for the next Evil Knievel.

Note 02 Feb 2004    It Rolls Downhill  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Initial coordinates as posted. The initial elevation is 915 feet as measured by my Garmin. Happy Hunting!

Note 26 Dec 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

What are the current coordinates for the Rolling Blackout? I don't see any posted. Time for cache maintenance on this one.

Note 29 Oct 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

The Rolling Blackout is back, serving up caching fun with every volley.

N 30 27.679
W 097 47.291

Try not to make too much of a racket while looking for it, or you may find yourself in court...

Note 24 Oct 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Please Stand By. The rolling blackout is in the shop for routine monthly maintenance. Will return to the grid shortly...

Note 03 Oct 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Some recent placements (or near placements) of the Rolling Blackout. There are other possibilities. Remember, take 'em and post 'em but use the smiley to block out the image of the cache. Thanks!

Note 02 Oct 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Gadget Girl just called me. She has found it, so please wait for her new coordinates to post before you go looking for it...

Note 24 Sept 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

That was a good hide. Took me a few minutes to find it and I even knew what I was looking for.

Please Stand By. The rolling blackout is in the shop for maintenance. Will return to the grid shortly...

Note 17 Sept 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

Don't forget to post photos of the cache placement as you found it. Be sure to block the actual image of the cache using a hat or other item, or you can use the smiley face picture here and a photo editor to cover up the cache container digitally.

Half the fun of the moving cache is to see where people have placed it, so let's take 'em and post 'em!

Note 10 Sept 2003    Rolling Blackout  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1 )

I thought your previous location was good. I checked it out on my morning walk this morning. You had already removed it by the time I got there but I thought it was a decent spot, certainly better than my first placement (see photo), and by a trail I hadn't explored yet despite it being only half a mile from my house!

Note 27 Aug 2003    Third Meeting of San Antonio Geocachers  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

I'll be there. Will try to rouse up some of the Austin rabble to come on down too!

Note 21 Aug 2003    Golden-cheeked Warbler  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 3 )

Yeah this was a cool park. Very remote and quite near my favorite shootin' range, which makes it doubly fun to trek out here to the north side of the lake.

Note 02 Aug 2003    Garret Island Cache  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 5 )

A Hawaiian Lay? That might be worth the boat trip out there, but my wife would kill me!

Note 18 Jul 2003    Thigh's A'Burnin! - Starnes Expedition 1  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 5 )

Allie and I can't make this time. We can make the Expedition 2 - on Sunday night.

Note 18 Jul 2003    Thigh's A'Burnin! - Starnes Expedition 2  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 5 )

Allie and I can make this time. Anyone with a boat care to join us or are we going to swim it?
