Found it quick and easy, except I wasn’t suppose to be heading to this cache, now. It was scheduled number two on my list today not number one. In the end, it all worked out, I still got the FTF on the other one.

Holy Cows batman, it got archived! I couldn’t find the posting anywhere. Thought I went nuts! Glad I had the waypoint already.
We found it real easy, pulled the geo-mobile right between the hide and window. Popped the hood to make it look good and screen from prying eyes. Retrieved the hide and signed the log book. Nice quick hide. TFTC/H Cache in good shape.

Find date 06/18/05
I got a call from SB2 that he wanted to go caching and to meet him at these coords.
As I neared the location, I received a second call, when you gonna get here, I can’t find it” cries the voice on the other end. I said I’m parking right next to you and will be there right away. As I hurried to ground zero, I hear a voice off a ways say Huckle-Buckle. No, now I have to hunt it on my own, I exclaimed! Go for it. I was so excited when I found it, I forgot to write down my own palindrome word. I’ll post it here and I’ll return asap to write it on the log. WoW

I found it! 20 May 2005    Under The Sea...  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 2.5 )

I have to give Cayuga Crew the credit on finding the first leg.

Here’s the whole story.
I was out on the 18th around noon, spent almost 3 hrs hunting around ground zero. I gave up that day. I talked to SB2 later that eve. and he had tried it, with no success. I returned today, just after noon, spent more time and gave up, again. Bah-hum-bug.
Got a call on the geo phone that a geo-coin was near by and decided to go after it. I was lucky – hunting that cache.

As most local cachers know, I don’t give up easy. I returned to give it a geo-try again. Upon getting 0.2 away, as I crested the hill, I found another team caching. It was that famous Cayuga Crew on the prowl. I told them they were in the wrong spot, it’s over there a ways. Daddy-Cayuga Crew said no way, we found it over here. There is a big difference on where ground zero is, and where the ”NEW” first stage is. It’s been a long 5 hrs hunting and barely getting out of the starting gate.

Away we go. I conceded to Cayuga Crew on letting them have FTF if we got that far. CC and I walked and talked and let young ones actually do the hunt. Look out, these kids know how to cache on their own. Thanks for allowing me to share the hunt with The Crew +.
Swapped some tb’s and geo-coins with Cayuga Crew, S/L
Some days are better then others.
BTW: Congrads to the Smileygang on the FTF, and thanks for leaving the geo-coin to trade with CC.

The “Great” WhiteUrkel and I just had to do some caching along the way, up towards Durand Park. The WhiteUrkel just had to stop by and do this one, when he herd that the original was MIA. First of many finds for the day. We, (Urkel – claimed the Huckle Buckle), found it rather easy. Thanks for the nice hike and cache. T/0 L/0 S/L

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Second time's a charm??  ( Difficulty: 1.5    Terrain: 2 )

The Great WhiteUrkel and I were in the area doing another cache nearby, and just had to do this one. We got a primo parking space, and jumped right on the trail, just like the good cachers we are. In no time we zeroed out. That’s the good news part, the bad news is we spent another 15 min. searching where we shouldn’t have been. Just by accident, I caught a glimpse of what looked like a cache can. I got the Huckle-Buckle over WhiteUrkel on this one. Thanks for the cache and hunt. T/0 L/0 S/L

Holy Moly, Batman! Is that really a log book with dates from 2001.
Now that’s worth having an event for, just in itself !

A nice** unexpected lesson** in today’s hunts that I observed, in and around Durand!
Seems that the ***Navicache Only*** cache listings, don’t degrade as quickly as on the other side. Caches are well placed, rated more accurately, and returned to their proper position. No food or liquid items, including those crappie wedding bubble bottles that seem to leak on everything. It’s too bad, that people can’t take lessons from this site on what and how caching should be.
Thanks for another wonderful experience, in the old style of **stash hunt** caching.
It’s much more than the smiley faces and points that made this day great.

I found it! 18 Mar 2005    Dudes on the loose!  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 1.5 )

The WhiteUrkel decided to try finding an “old time cache”. What I mean by this is, it hadn’t been found in over a year.

We left the geo-auto, and hit the trails, from the main rd, what parking area ???. All went easy and well, till we neared the cache. The “Great” WhiteUrkel took the low road and I took the high. Well, I followed the arrow and tried to bushwack to the top. As I cleared the brush and stood in the open area to allow the gps to lock on some satellites, I herd that well known cry “Huckle-Buckle” come from below. Yes, it was TWU, and he indeed did find it. I bushwacked back down to where he was standing. Sure enough, there sat the can, all locked in by “old man winter’s grip” sadly to report.

Well, I didn’t drive 80 miles to let some death grip stop us. TWU had found some fair sized sticks and tried to pry the can as I dug by hand. After several attempts and broken sticks, I grabbed a big gun. A few swift “not so loving taps”, jarred it from the grip of winter.

Once we opened the can, we were relieved to see all is well.
TWU opened the log book and read the last entry. Holy Cow! It was true, nobody found this cache in over 18 months. Urkel exclaimed, now that is what caching is all about.

I thought about that line, as TWU signed the log book. Yes, this must have been what it felt like back in the early days of “Stash Hunt”. Finds, far and few between, but in good condition. We were glad to see no liquid or food had been left in the cache – except for some 2 yr old tic tac’s – orange I think ???

Well, didn’t someone say “He wants to be on Fear Factor”.

Cache in good shape. Thanks “Mighty Quinn” for a great hide.

You devil you. Our first DNF of the day.

We had trouble with this one right from the get go. Parked further than we should have. Headed out down hill, then across the flats and back up hill. A lot of walking for where we were led.

Three gps’r can’t be wrong – now can they. We searched and turned over the “hill top” to no avail. Finally, as most cachers know, I never give up, we called it quits on this one. I’m not sure if the snow had anything to do with us not finding this one or not. Thanks for the humbling experience of this hunt and logging a DNF. We will be back.

Also, running the tunnel is quite cool, provided you carry a side arm and high power light. Those critters, are as big as beavers.

SkeeterBait2 and I are FTF’s on this one.
It all started when I got a call from SK2 to help update the PDA.
One thing led to another, and I herd, this one popped up as new.
As we discussed a time to get together, we decided not to update the PDA, but go get some caching done.

We set out after this one, hoping nobody else would get the jump on us. There were tons of cars in the lot when we arrived. We were a little concerned, we might not be alone.
We were in such a hurry, I left most of my caching stuff in the geomobile, except for my WG$, my stamp and the GPSr.

Found it pretty easily, just put my nose to the ground, and followed the arrow. LOL

Note 20 Oct 2004    Letchworth Fall Gathering III  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

The Letchworth III Story

The "BLACKWATCH CLAN” called the annual meeting of all "stashseekers". The Letchworth location, became "OurWoods" for another weekend, if you brought your "Rusty O Junk" dish to pass, plucked down your "mrgreen/moneypenny", and spread your "FancyWings", to get there.

The weather gods threatened with rain. But the "Bounty-Hunters" had a "wisewoman" named "Candy God" that they countered with. The geo gods cooperated, you could leave your bug spray home and not be "SkeeterBait2". Most would get "junglehair" and need a "Wheelygood" fixin from "babrshpdru".

"BerkMom" led all the "Wheelygood Women" in cooking up some "ChileHead" and "Road Kill" that the "Gardner Girls" had "Krafty04" prepared while wearing "Foxgloves", after being inspected by "Vet Tech '03".

"MsBusymom" brewed up some "marlin01" and "Gandalf" which you could wash down with a "Peppermill 6-Pack("WMSFresh)" or an "Olf D'Coors" and give you a "Team Headrush".

"Blackpete" issued a warning, to beware of the "Two Bears in the Woods", "Racer and Boo", "Bearly Kathy", and "ATMouse", who recently had chased "thehiker" and "1Darlin" across a "ROCKY" creek, and needed to use their "CB" to report "Ima Lost" and had a "booboo_1".

"Team Ferret" formed a rescue crew of "golden navigators" consisting of "MikeNBecca", "Marc G.", "eltee1", "rjw661", "Quintheeskimo66", "CamillusGeo", "Postkid", "Vargseld", "peter0224", with "medicdave", and "mickemt" leading the way.

"Strikeforce1", "mrmom" - aka Lord of the Light, and "ScouterMark" were out trying to arrest "The Lyndon Road Gang" and the elusive team of "Harv & Donna “(w/o Donna )”" who was a little "Mrs Ruty".

Back at base, "TeamDurant", "cazador481", "Fossil Doc and Serendipity", and "HFJohn", was playing a "ceedee" doing the "KimmyShimmy" until "Brogan" pulled the plug. We then had a "brownout" but "PyroDave" started a fire that guided all back thru the darkness of the night.

In the end, all had a "Killerb" of time. We formed "thesmileygang", said "avroair" till nest year.

This little story is inspired by "mrmom", who has a cache very similar to this, using cachers names to tell a story. SF1 having fun with names.

Well, tonight (08/17/04) was bitter sweet. After three atttempts of trying to arrange a meet with The Great White Urkel and the Moms - MrMom, MsBusymom and The Goo over the past two weeks, we finall got together. After a quick de-briefing, as to how the area and cache use to be laid out, we set out to hunt it. THE FINAL HUNT, as one put it!

The Bitter Side: Much of the area has been scrapped to raw dirt. The hiking trails are almost non-existant. Very few trees are still standing, including the area around all the objects, the micro, and the final cache. Oh what a sad :( :( site to see.

The Sweet Side: After intro's : Yes - it's true The Great WhiteUrkel does exist..

As we walked and talked, GWU did the math, as I guided them thru what's left of the trails. I even had a hard time, finding one object myself. The walk was a quick one, due to heavy machinery hard at work! Onward to the final, The Goo couldn't wait to get near the cache, to really start hunting. It warmed my heart to see the kid so eager to find the cache. It wasn't that hard due to most trees and cover being scrapped away. It almost stood out. The Goo said Huckle-Buckle and we trudged on to recover the cache. As everyone signed in, I promptly removed all parts, of the final cache. We headed back to the gate continuing to geochat as we walked. GWU had to boogie, so the Moms, Goo and I discussed some caches and ideas.

I'll be thinking of somewhere else to place this cache. Long live -=(Geo)=- and his Tribute Cache!

For Your Saftey: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HUNT THIS CACHE! It has been removed completely! THERE ARE NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS POSTED!

Log date 07/04/04 started at dusk, finished 10:45 pm.
I teamed up with Boz to try and do this Night Cache. It was our first "Official" night cache. I've done some regular caches at night, but, none like this. You did an awesome job (you creep ;) LOL ), setting this up. I used up several lights, including a 2 mil. Candle power night-sun rechargeable doing this. Glad I carry extra flashlights and batteries. We got following the marks ok, except, Can you say the "WRONG" way. Can you say, DARK! Oh such an understatement! We looked in that area for almost 45 min. burning up batteries and ourselves. We checked several hiding spots, and tried to find more markers. Finally, I decided to backtrack and find the split. Once I found it, I called out to Boz, to come up to where I was. I had him stay at the split till I found the next two markers. We made it to the end ( you’ll know it when you get there, especially after going the wrong way. As I started to scan the area, Boz discovered it! BINGO can you Huckle-Buckle! No Doubt, you put a lot of hard work into this cache! Thanks for the time and effort. This is a Must Do Night Cache. The only slight disappointment was not getting to hear the coyotes howl ! I guess the noise we made ;) kept them at bay? Note: To anyone attempting to do this cache, bring back up batteries and make sure to mark the trail markers. Do not attempt to bushwack back to your car! It is totally impossible! We tried it, and the vegetation and trees are way to thick! Be fore warned from experienced cachers. Thanks for the Hunt, Great WhiteUrkle, this will be so memorable! T/ mini flashlight – just in case we needed it, --not to mention-- bruised shin, a bump on the head (header), and a thorn in the hand just steps from the trail exit, and the fun memories - caching with Boz. ----- L/ 2 WG$ and a Geocoin , and many tracks. Teamed up with **floorestius** today, for some, long awaited, caching along the Niagara River. We picked a nice day, the sun was shining and the wind was down. This started out (2nd of 7), and ended (3rd of day) working our way down river. I can’t believe how low the river is this time of year. The first part of this cache is another good old fishing hole of mine. It makes me wonder, if I shouldn’t start carrying my fishing gear  while caching. While at the first part, we could here the ice flows breaking as they melted, flowing by us. I finally, used my cache sheet that was printed back on 01/15/03. Can you say –long ago--. Well, now I can say Huckle Buckle on this one. Yes, we read the sign, and I even took pics of it. Thanks for the great hike, views, history, and find. Cache is in good shape. T/0 L/log Strikeforce1 **out-and-about**.

Teamed up with **floorestius** today, for some, long awaited, caching along the Niagara River. We picked a nice day, the sun was shining and the wind was down. This was our 2nd of 7 today, and working our way down river. Since I already Huckle Buckled this before, I had to sit back and let **floorestius** do this on his own. For a relative newbie, he worked it like a pro. Reflecting back to when I first did it, it’s humbling to watch another cacher do what you did to locate the cache. Thanks for the fun and memories. Cache is in good shape. T/0 L/0 didn't sign log. Strikeforce1 **out-and-about**.

This was our 5th of 7, and 3rd of yours, we did today working our way down river. It was a slight detour from the river. What can I say about this one, wet and muddy!!! I won’t say who - someone went swimming on the way in  , and someone else banged a shin on the way out , did I say OUCH ! Thanks for the fun. T/0 L/log Cache is in good shape. I found it! 20 Oct 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

What else could be told, that hasn't already been said.
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to The Blackwatch Clan and Roadkill
for another successful event! Has it already been a year
since the First. It was good to see many older cachers
again, and to meet more "NEWBIE'S".
As usual, the food and hospitality were GREAT.
The timing was good for the fall colors.
Even the weather held out till late in the day.
And for some reason, there is never enough time to do everthing.
We only got to do a few caches along with Team Headrush,
Team Bullivant, and the CellarSavers.
Thanks for another fun and eventful day.
Sunset and Strikeforce1

I couldn 20 Oct 2003    Low & Behold (Read Warning)  ( Difficulty: 3    Terrain: 3 )

Attempted, to do with Teams Headrush & Bullivant, was on
wrong side of river. We did like the views of the falls
though. Couldn't understand why people were on the bridge
tracks when trains ( 2) were comming. I guess they were
daredevils of some sort. Sorry, we weren't that adventurous
to corss the gorge by R&R tracks. We'll just have to try
finding a different way in. SF1 and Sunset

Note 16 Sept 2003    Letchworth Fall Gathering II  ( Difficulty: 1    Terrain: 1 )

Strikeforce1 and Sunset will be there. Counting down the days.

SPECIAL NOTE: Please be aware that bowhunting season opens on
Oct.15th and will be in full swing, this weekend. If you have
blaze orange or bright red ( no brown )- I strongly recommend
that you bring and wear bright colors while out - caching in
the park. Think safe. See you all soon ! SF1

I found it! 01 Jul 2003    Gnomes Lair  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 3 )

While down to Sprague Brook Park on, other business.
I introduced a friend (Barney Fife) of mine to geocaching.
After our work on Monday decided to do some caching on
Tuesday. Set our game plan, and our first adventure, after
a rain , with "Barney" in tow was Gnomes Lair. "Barney" had
bad knee and couldn't make last 40 yrds to cache. I plucked
cache from the lair and went back to Barney and opened the
cache. He was quite surprized when I opened it, and saw all
the bounty inside. Though wet, he found it interesting, and
explored the contents, while I emptied the box and started
drying things off. I put all contents in a large zip-lock
bag - hopefully they will stay dry.
Took : monster head key ring / Left : Racecar.
Thanks for the hide and find.
Strikeforce1 - out and about -with "Newbie" in tow.

Note 01 Jul 2003    Up Up and Away  ( Difficulty: 2.5    Terrain: 1.5 )

This was the second of the day for us. After some other
business and the morning cache (Gnomes Lair ), we went
after this cache ( 4:45 pm )also. Barney was eager to try a
second cache. From the Vets Memorial, we followed the gps
onward. I was explaining to him how this game is played and
how people hide things differently as we walked. As we got
close to the cache ( .02 away ) I was watching the gps for
a bearing, when I herd "I Found It ". It wasn't quite the
Huckle -Buckle, but he was right on ( as a "Newbie " out
doing the vet.- go figure.) This cache was in good shape,
and while going thru it, I found a CBtb. I couldn't resist,
I had to "Arrest" him and take him back to the CannonBall
Cops Pen. He'll be processed and on his way soon, westward
I hope.
Thanks for the fun on this hide - glad I brought a
"Newbie" to jump for joy ;).
