Open Log: Personal use only Good uphill hike. Could have been worse if I hadn't tried a suggestion I read about in a fellow cachers log awhile back. Said to take small steps going up a hill, you get to the top and your not even breathing hard. Amazing how that works. Found the cache and saw the old lift machine. TNLNSL TFTC

Open Log: Non-commercial use only I decided that this would be a fun cache for my 5 year-old niece and I to try after seeing that it got upgraded from a crummy multi-micro to a real cache. In spite of the fact that we're Hempfield Township residents, we don't get up here very often to see how our taxes are being spent. This wasn't the first time I have been to this park for geocaching. It's the fourth time, actually. There were two previous to "A walk in the Park" (GC15EKP). There was "Hempfield Hunt" (GC41D8) which was about halfway up the hill and "O'er the Fields" (GCM9RJ) which had a final stage in almost exactly the same place as this cache. The first stage cache was an easy find. Laura wasn't impressed by the whole micro thing and neither was I. Is there some reason why you brought me here? Nice parking lot, I guess. Nevertheless, we both enjoyed the vigorous hike up to the final. The little girl did very well getting to the top of it. We did trades but I don't remember what at this late date. I also swapped TBs which were duely logged over there on Froggy's website. Thanks for the fun treasure hunt and for listing it over here. Johnny and Laura.

We found this one on this pleasant Saturday. Our cousin was with us and got a happy introduction to geocaching.

We finally found it. We tried to get it last night but got to the park with only enough time to get the first stage and get to the second stage area. Then it got too dark. Went back this afternoon and headed directly for the second stage. Saw quite a few butterflies in the area. Lots of spiders around too, mostly Daddy Long Legs. Mr. Maxfazer had to check out the engine that he thinks once ran a ski lift. Then off to search the area. It only took us about 20 minutes to find. There are a lot of places to look. After finding the cache, we had to search for the pen that bailed out of Mrs. Maxfazer's back pocket while searching. Luckily it wasn't far away. Then back down the trail. Going down is almost as muscle toning as going up. TFTC
