This cache is to celerbrate our car reaching the 100,000 mile mark. It's also a nice place for Travel Bugs to take a rest.

Maps are queued for generation.

Retiring this cache on Navacache since I'm not sure if it's still there. The last couple logs at the other site say it wasn't there and I almost never visit this site to update

This cache celebrates our 1998 Dodge Stratus reaching the 100,000 mile mark March 3, 2002. The coordinates point to where the car was when it hit 100,000
miles, not the cache itself. Near there is a business card size magnet with the coordinates for the
cache. It should be close enough that if you look for
a place where you'd hide a small magnet I think you will find it
easily. The cache has mostly items for cars. Since this is a rest stop, we're
leaving our first travel bug, Comet Horse, here to rest before she starts her
journey. We hope to see other travel bugs here in the future. We plan to leave
at least three more travelers (one for each member of our family.)

You can also log this cache as either an 'Other' or 'Found' (whichever you
like) if your car reaches the 100,000 mile mark (or any 25,000 mile mark after
that.) Please show the coordinates for where you were when your car hit the mark
and any
interesting stories or pictures you might have. You might even hide your own
cache at your 100,000 mile mark!

UPDATE 4/14/02: 100.000 km is fine as well as long as that's the standard
measurement in your country (no converting your odometer from miles to km to get
there sooner--we want real zeros!)

Update 5/12/02: Comet Horse has started her travels, and we have since placed
Miss Cheetah in the cache. When she leaves the cache, we'll put Queenfish in the
cache. Eventually, Man In The Wild will get his chance to travel.

Ok, on to the 'goodies' included in the cache:

  • Map Light

  • Mini Tool Key Chain

  • Virginia/West Virginia map

  • Car Compass

  • Tire Gauge

  • Car replacement bulbs 168XL (They'll work in my car at least.)

  • Raccoon toy

  • Matchbox trucks

  • Dream Catcher air freshener. Seems to be scent free.

  • Comet Horse Travel Bug

This mother goose is at N3824.861 W08149.877. You might get a chance to see her
eggs, but watch out for the
protective father! The trailhead can be seen from here. It's at N3824.846'

Update 5/3/02: The eggs have hatched! You can still find the nest near those
coordinates, and you might see the family swimming nearby. Also, we spotted a
crane fishing from the side of the lake in the rain a few days later.

Don't forget to log your find both at the cache and here online. The same
with the travel bugs.

Have fun!

Temporarily Disable Listing June 14 by Man In The Wild (2304 found)

Ok... I need to find my files with coordinates for the final and/or the magnets for this cache. Unfortunately I lost the hard drive these were kept on but I have another copy somewhere... If anyone has the final coordinates please post them here. I'll re-enable the cache when I can make it accessible again.

Didn't find it May 16 by wvsurveyor1984 (69 found)

They were working on the road today and I think maybe this cache was destroyed. We looked all over the gate posts in the stated location but did not find it. I noticed a recent tire mark on the hinge part of the gate where I thought it would be. It might have been knocked off by the grinding machine they used today. Might want to check it and let me know if I am wrong or not.

Found the cache after a nice little walk up the hill. Cache was in good shape. I left a Farley TB. Thanks.

The Web-ling Mobile ('91 Isuzu pickup) finally reached 200,000 miles this morning, a couple of hundred yards from my front door, and a chip shot away from my "A Chip Off the Old Block" cache
