This multi cache is the forth in a series of caches we have placed along the lower portion of Indian Creek. This portion of Indian Creek spans from the spill way of the Mill Run reservoir to the Youghiogheny River, and has some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the Laurel Highlands. Our family has spent countless hours along this part of Indian Creek, and we believe this area was made for caching. There are several ways to get to this valley, but we ask that you please use only the lower Indian Creek Valley trail to access this cache. Coming in any other way may cause problems that we would like to avoid. To get to the parking area, turn off of route 381 near Mill Run onto Camp Christian Road and go about .6 miles. Then, make a right turn into a small gravel parking area. Please do not block the gate at the bridge. From the parking area, follow the trail (biking may be the preferred method). There will be a fork in the trail a little way past the gated bridge, take the left road for the trail to get to the first stage of the cache. There are 4 more caches in this series as well as Quest Master’s Hampton cache. So, after your find, continue on down through this magnificent valley and enjoy your day!

Out caching with friends today (bpalya) to finish up the Indian Creek series that we started last year. We hiked from the parking area along the ICV trail and enjoyed watching bpalya and weezer find #1, #2 and #3. We then headed on to #4. I spied the first stage and waited for the others to find it. Once we had all found it we entered the coordinates for the second stage. bpalya found the second stage and we all signed in. The water in the creek was high after the rain the last couple of days which made for a very pretty hike.

Wow!! the further down this trail I go, the more the memories keep flooding in!! I was looking for an old Bronco or a Willys with a keg in the back to come splashing through the creek! This cache put a big smile on my face, especially going for the final, that was one of our favorite camping sites. Man, did we have some fun in here. Great cache in a spectacular area that I'm coming back to with the grandkids for a campout. Thanks 4MRnutz

Open Log: Unrestricted This one was a really clever hide. We really enjoyed it. The trail has seen better days, but caches like this one are worth it. TFTC!

Open Log: Personal use only Fourth of several 4MRnutz caches found today as Nellsnake #1, 2, and 4 decided to take a ride along the ICV trail. It was a beautiful day for a ride and for caching. We enjoyed all of the craftsmanship on the containers. The locals were out in force today with their ATVs, so access to the first stage of this one took two attempts. Nellsnake #2 and 4 had turned around to go back at this point, so Nellsnake #1 was going solo. I headed down to the area of Hampton while biding my time and enjoyed the views of the Yough along the tracks for a bit. On the way back, the coast was clear, so I stopped and found the very cool first stage. After plugging in the coordinates to the final, I realized I would have to backtrack again, but I didn't mind because it was such a beautiful day for riding on the trail. After a steep descent, I found the final in a familiar-looking container. I took and left nothing and signed in around 1 pm. Thanks for another great caching adventure here. | |

Open Log: Non-commercial use only We skipped #3 and pressed on to #4 because we forgot the cache pages and because it appeared that #3 would be across the creek in an area that was crawling with muggles. We ditched the bikes up on the trail and made the steep descent down to the creek where it seemed that a cache would be hard to hide on account of seasonal flooding and hard to find on account of a big mess of brush and debris from seasonal flooding. I was praying that we weren't looking for a micro but I didn't know for sure because we didn't have the cache page. I was relived to spot something that clearly didn't belong and of course it was the cache. Up to your tricks again, huh? Eric and Erin came up to see what I had found and enjoyed another chuckle. With the final coordinates programmed, we climbed back up to the bikes and rode on to another spot where we cached the bikes to make a final assault on foot. We somehow managed to miss a trail which would have bypassed some unnecessary bushwhacking but I guess it's inevitable that this should happen at least once on any given day of caching. We found the thing right away because we were on to your tricks by now. It will be interesting to see if this gets muggled because it's so close to traffic and so obvious when you know what you're looking at. Thanks for another fun one. On to #3...
