This Cache is located near an old local swimming hole along the banks of Indian Creek. This is where most of my siblings and I learned how to swim. On many of hot summer days, we would look forward to the fun and beauty that this creek had to offer. I’m not sure if many families enjoy this spot anymore, but the view along this creek is still a special place for me. This is our first cache placement, and we hope others will enjoy this spot also. There is a lot of trash at the parking spot, it looks like some locals have been dumping here, it would be a good place to CITO. But, near the swimming hole and near the cache, it is a good bit cleaner. To get to the parking spot, turn off of Rt.381 onto Rt.653 near Normallville Pa. Turn left off of Rt. 653 onto Highway 1003 to parking coordinates N39*59.660 W079*25.778. It will be a short hike to the old swimming hole and then to the cache. Beware, there may be a few muddy spots to cross, but that is part of the fun. The cache container is a smaller ammo box.

Thanks for listing this on Navicache! I'm logging this on the occasion of withdrawing my financial support from geocaching.com because their brand of geocaching just isn't worth paying for anymore. This website ain't great but it's a great thing that alternatives exist and that there are a few people are willing to support them.

We favor going to Fayette County to go caching because the caches are traditionally better here. I can't say that I have ever tried this particular swimming hole but I have known people who go here on a regular basis. They refer to it as "White Bridge" which is the name of the locale marked on the topo map but I have always wondered where that came from. My guess is that there must have been a white bridge somewhere.. We favored a nicer swimming hole about 1/2 mile upstream but we observed today that it is gated and heavily posted now. It was only a short walk to the cache from the designated parking spot but it had all of the hallmarks of a Cong cache. There was the requisite illegal dump complete with deer carcasses, a renegade ATV path, and a water hazard. This was a particularly interesting water hazard that appeared to be the race for some kind of a mill that must have stood close to where the Route 653 bridge crosses Indian Creek. We looked for remains after we did the cache but there doesn't appear to be much of anything left of it. My GPS was slow to get a good signal but we waited it out and got a pretty good fix on where we needed to begin searching. It was just a matter of following the footprints after that because we were the third visitors today. We took a TB and a geocoin and left two TB's. Thanks for hiding this! I will have to make it a point to go swimming here when summer rolls around. Johnny, Eric, Erin, and Torri.
