This cache is located in the lovely Pratt’s Falls Park in Pompey, NY. This park is host to a wonderful and quite breathtaking waterfall with a 137’ drop. There are hiking trails galore, and a good deal of nice photographs to be had. You can often see remnants of the parks former life, with broken apart stone staircases and other mysterious stone structures. From the Onondaga County Parks Website:

Scenic trails leading to a 137' waterfall beckon visitors to bring a well-stocked picnic basket and a sense of adventure. This geological wonder, formed by retreating glaciers, was the site of Onondaga County's first mill operation in 1796. Picnic opportunities abound. Also popular for archery and cross-country skiing. Camp Brockway, a rustic community-styled lodge in a classic forest location, is just the spot for weddings, family reunions and company outings

The cache is up a rather steep hill. You can get to it by following the stream to what seems to be a white-brown calciferous waterfall (complete with heavy calcium deposits) heading uphill and into dense forest. The hike up that hill is a pretty good one, so wear good shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty.

Great little cache, watch out for the "posted" signs. There are two other caches in the same park.

We looked for this on the wrong side - again. Once we realized there were more trails in the park, we headed in the right direction. However, we walked down instead of up!!!!
