Located in the area of the closed Nottingham Country Club. This is a beautiful area and don't be surprised if you see deer, turkey, pheasants or other woodland creatures. The nearby pond has good fishing in Spring and Summer. Suggested parking is along Patterson Road at the following pulloff (room for 2 - 3 vehicles) N 40°13.729 W 080°04.606
The terrain rating is due to the hill you will walk up at the begining of your hike to the cache, once at the top, it is mostly level. There is an obvious trail that you can take in the beginning that will get you close to the cache site. An entry into the area of the cache can be found so that you don't get caught in the jaggers. Cache container is a cammo'd 50 cal. ammo can, containing the usual swag items. Please be sure to hide the container the way you found it if not better. |

Princesa and I braved the cold and snow to try this cache. I was looking forward to this hunt because I rather enjoyed "Golf No More" (GCH4G3) which was hidden in this same area. The parking spot turned out to be exact same place I parked last time and we hiked up the same trail but I could swear that the hill was bigger this time. Princesa wanted to bushwhack but I convinced her to stay with the trail. When we saw the numerous tracks of hunters and their quarry, Princesa donned a stylish orange vest that she got out of a cache somewhere. She looked like a school crossing guard that got lost in the woods. I would say that she looked silly but then I was looking pretty dorky in my crusty orange ballcap that I dug out of the trunk for this occasion. The trail got us almost to the cache and the dead-on coordinates did the rest. Princesa found the monster cache right where it was supposed to be. I traded TB's and SL. Thanks for putting another cache in this area. It's such a curious place. I wish that I knew the whole story behind this country club that is no more. I'll bet it's an interesting tale of financial woe. Johnny.
