Open Log: Personal use only I decided that it was high time for me to check on this cache so that I did. I found it to be in pretty decent shape considering how long it has been out here in a substandard container. Nevertheless, I upgraded to an ammo can in an ongoing effort to make all of my hides military spec. Cache on! Johnny.

Open Log: Personal use only I'm a clueless out of towner, and I could not find a way to Traffic Island. I did, before giving up, find a long, yet feasible way to it, but I was staying at the Airport, and darkness was approaching, so I hit the road. I will try again some other time when I'm in the neighborhood.

Open Log: Unrestricted Wanted to find this one on Friday but never made it out of the house. Today seemed like a good day to hunt. After looking at some maps I found a good way to enter. Once I found an entrance I was on my way. Found cache without much trouble although it was a very good hide. Thanks to Mooman56 for recommending the Island and thanks to Quest Master for the cache. I look forward to hunting for more of your cache's.

I should have known that this would be no walk in the park!

Open Log: Non-commercial use only 1:10 PM. Out with 3SpyKids today. I think (pretty sure) we parked illegally, and we ignored a sign, but followed an ATV trail littered with all sorts of trash. We brought out a Wally World bag of trash... The kids found a lot of toads. Nice spot! KJ took forceps and left a silver car and a snake. I dropped off the Reach TB. Not an easy one to get too, I did a lot of studying this time... The van was still there when we returned, and no ticket, phew...

Found the cache easy enough but had trouble finding my car! Very nice hide QM. Thanks for the nice walk in the woods on a 90 degree day. Did you actually count the trunks?

Open Log: Personal use only The second time was a charm on this one. I was driving back to Pittsburgh today from N.J. alone and was getting drowsy by this point, so I decided to pull off at this nexus of highways and take another shot at this cache. After rethinking my earlier reservations about the access route for this cache and with some encouragement and clarification by the cache owner, I almost decided to just drive all the way over to the cache area. But, instead I decided to get a bit of much needed exercise to wake my legs and mind. The ATV trails were quite muddy in spots. The cache area itself seemed quite secluded, yet right in the middle of things with the sounds of traffic nearby. I was able to find the cache quickly in good shape. Thanks for the cache and nice diversion from the monotony of the pike, QM!

Open Log: Personal use only Alright, Johnny! You got us this time. This was our first stop today out caching in the Greensburg area. Nellsnake Mom had an all-day meeting to attend, so I took the boys out for some caching on a clear but cold Saturday. I scoped out the Topo and aerial maps prior to the trip and decided to park at a spot that seemed reasonable. Of course, we were quickly confronted by a trademark QM water hazard, which was running pretty high today. We scouted around up and down the stream for a reasonable crossing point. The terrain was a bit tricky in places. With the kids in tow and no other parent to fall back on, I had to be more conservative. If I were alone, I certainly could have made the crossing at one spot that would have not been too bad. There was even the potential for a hands over head crossing along a rusty metal pipe in another area. Instead, we opted to retreat; we did look briefly for another viable approach by car, but none was readily apparent--we didn't want to trespass near the RR tracks. I shall have to return when I can find a better approach or the water is running lower and/or is warmer! Thanks for the challenge.
