This is a fun geo-cache adventure.
QUESTION: A 47er went to a hardware store and bought the following items: 1 for one dollar, 47 for two dollars, 470 for three dollars. What items did she buy? You don't have to solve this to get to the cache, but try to solve it, for the fun of it, before you get to the first coordinates. The answer will reveal itself at the first coordinates. FIRST COORDINATES: Look both ways and the answer will reveal itself. It you can't see both answers, walk 47 feet to the opposite side of the road. (Be careful of traffic.) Now that you have figured out what was purchased at the hardware store (or even if you didn't), pick two with identifiers that most match the nearby street sign on the corner. Arrange them in the same order as the street sign. Post them in the missing numbers in the following coordinates: N38 34.706 W121 26.2XX These are your second coordinates. You are looking for a house. What are you waiting for? Get over there! SECOND COORDINATES: Notice that the house at these coordinates does not identify itself. Figure it out. (I confirmed the correct identity with the local mailman). Please don't disturb the people living there. When you get the answer, post it into the missing numbers in the following coordinates: N38 34.346 W121 26.2XX Then convert the north coordinates by adding the house number of the next door neighbor. THIRD COORDINATES: Park in the nearby residential area. If you approach from the west side, there is a walker's break in the bushes. A short walk and a minor maze is involved. This is the final micro cache location. You earned it! Bring your own pen or pencil. P.S. If you winged it and still haven't figured what was bought at the hardware store, email me and I will let you know. Enjoy. A very toothy squirrel has eaten through two of my cache container. I have replaced it with a metal altoids can (regular size) and wrapped it in brown plastic. Location of cache is at same coordinates. |
