This cache is my twenty-second hide. I just couldn’t resist this opportunity to have fun with double entendre.

I am not a big fan of virts but this one is different. There is no cache but there is a catch. There is something unique and interesting at the coordinates but we cannot talk about what it is. Why? Because the thing you will find at the site of Cache-22 is a closely-guarded secret. What? I can’t answer you that. You’ll just have to go there to see it for yourself. Cache-22 is on public land and it isn’t dangerous or illegal to go there but be forewarned that there isn’t even the faintest of trails to get you to this place since nobody ever goes there. Why not? Because it’s in the middle of nowhere and practically nobody knows that it exists. It sounds like a good job for GPS, doesn’t it?

Intrigued? Curious? Good. Go get it!

Here’s the Catch-22 of Cache-22: It is important that this site be kept a secret. You must *not* post any information about what you find at the site or any specific information about how you got there. Your log entry should be limited to such things as: It was “really cool” or “really stupid” or “the most amazing thing” or “a total waste of my time”. I will promptly delete any logs which reveal any sensitive information even if encrypted. The date on the gate scores a smiley face. Email this info to Quest Master. Do *not* post it in your log!

Warning: This is a challenging hike in a remote area. It should not be attempted by inexperienced persons. I got to within .5 miles of the coordinates on some jeep trails but you will be very fortunate to get this close or closer before having to bushwhack the rest of the way. The terrain is rugged and the undergrowth is thick. Wear good shoes, long pants, and take a waypoint before going off trail. You should also bring the topo map and a compass and know how to use them before attempting this cache.

Note: This cache is located on Pennsylvania State Gamelands. During the peak deer season (November 15 - December 15, except Sundays), you must "wear a minimum of 250 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange-colored material on the head, chest and back combined or, in lieu thereof, a hat of the same colored material. The material shall be worn so it is visible in a 360° arc".

Day one of our 'Tour de Cong', 3rd & final cache of the day after 'Scattered Remains' & 'Polly Takes the Plunge'. Yes, I too have been intrigued and curious about this one for a long time. I had to see it!! I love a mystery - it's a sure way to get me to hike up mountains - briars, bushwhacks, & all... When we finally reached it, our verdict was - "Really Cool"! In the days before our trip, we had made a game of guessing what would be there and I actually guessed it correctly. We have seen something similar before. I had also just read something on this subject recently, so can appreciate why it should be secret. We saw something else cool there, but I won't say what here... Anyway, yet another great cache! One of my favorite virtuals yet. The trail we took back down was a real ankle buster and man, we were two sore folks & one lame dog by the end. No matter, though - we thank you for all of the caches we did today; the Fairchance 3 lived up to their reputation and then some. It was a superb day of adventure & we enjoyed it all to the fullest!

I have been going crazy wondering what was at this site since last fall! I made a trip to the parking spot back then, and started up toward the cache in my Tracker, but chickened out and turned around. I was by myself, it was hunting season, and I didn't want to get stuck, or worse, break something on my vehicle and be stuck up in there. I got out and started to hike it, but a storm came up and I took this as a sign to leave! So today, on a rare day of caching with my wife without kids, I decided we would try again. We get in trouble caching without them unless it's for micros, so I thought they wouldn't say much if we went for this virt which is way better than any micro could even hope to be! All I can say is that this was worth the hike. Again, how did you know this was there? Not at all what I expected. Thanks!

#3 of 9 in the QuestMaster Cache Marathon today. Hiked in from "Polly Takes the Plunge". How does QuestMaster find these things in the middle of the woods? Maybe he was raised by wolves or something. Anyways, the "item" was in my top 3 guesses. TFTC! Enjoyed the hike!

Found this one at 10:30 AM.
One of the "Fairchance Three" JimBat and I found today.
I had been dying to know what was here ever since I had read about it. Couldn't even begin to imagine what it was, but I knew it would definitely be something to see! Glad we took the time to check it out.
Really cool! Worth the trip.
How do you find these things, QM???

Thanks.

10:15AM. Well, KJ and I wanted to do this one for our 50th find. We went out with goldensnitch82 today. Dean drove his Jeep up this trail from you know where and parked 1/2 mile from the cache location, as QM said you could probably do this. Was a little leary about bringing my almost 6 yr old son on this after reading the logs, but, I don't know what all the hype was about... Dean, Ryan, KJ and I pretty much followed trail after trail for all but the last 300' to the final cache location. There was one part of the trek that ended at one trail that required us to travel through thick fern growth up a hill for a few hundred feet, but then we picked up another trail that got us close to the final destination. Maybe we just got lucky... I did take one spill on a slippery rock, but came up unscathed. We did all wear jeans as suggested, and were glad we did - lots of jaggers. KJ caught an interesting salamander (I think), which I am sure was poisonous, given it's coloration. We were very impressed with the virtual, and QM, I will email your answer, along with a question for you. As always, TFTC! Thanks Dean and Ryan for the company!

5th of 6 Quest Master cache adventures in the Fayette-Cong for me today, while the rest of the Nellsnake team was out of town for the weekend. After finding Scattered remains and the 1st stage of Polly Takes the Plunge, I bushwhacked over to this area, which was a bit of a challenge through thigh-deep ferns and too-numerous-to-count full-face encounters with spider webs. I had a bit of difficulty honing in on this one, as reception was very spotty, but after 10-15 minutes of wandering, I found the spot at 6:15 p.m. Interesting area! My adventures finished as I went back to look again for the second and third stages of Polly. Answer e-mailed to QM.

Yes, leave it to the Questmaster to send you crashing headlong into the unkown. If it were not for Caches like these all the others would seem boring. Thanks GOOD & SAFE Caching to all Who Follow

After logging Polly Takes the Plunge (GC34FB) VaxCave and Marshall hadn't intended to go for Cache-22 and I was perfectly willing to step out of the Jeep and set off on my own at any time but they chose to go anyway.

Questmaster says that he couldn't get to within half a mile before having to bushwhack but Marshall's jeep was able to get closer than a quarter mile. And, as the weather was getting cooler the bushwhack wasn't so bad.

We found it and had some suspicions of what was really going on but it took QuestMaster's full explanation back at Base Camp to really appreciate how cool this place is and why it should remain something of a secret.
