You are about to begin the Amazing Ambridge Adventure!!! As of the end of July 2008, this cache has been reworked to eliminate the problems which have plagued it, and those problems are now entirely addressed.
This cache will take you on a brief tour of Ambridge. At Stages 1 and 2, you will encounter organizations which have been part of the history of Ambridge. Stages 3 and 4 will take you to a couple of Ambridge’s restful spots. At a couple of points along the way, you may encounter things that we find a bit humourous as well. Have fun! In order to undertake and successfully complete the Adventure, you will need the following items – don’t leave home without them! 1) a camera 2) a coathanger (preferably plastic, but wire can work just fine) 3) the documents posted at the following two web addresses: http://www.page13designs.com/CITO/stage1.pdf http://www.page13designs.com/CITO/stage2.pdf On to the adventure: The starting coordinates will take you to a historical marker regarding a religious group which settled here. On this sign, use the dates as follows to find the 2nd stage of the cache: A=2nd digit of the 2nd date on this sign B=3rd digit of the 2nd date 2nd stage coordinates: 4B deg 35.B23 8B deg 13.5AB These coordinates will take you to a sidewalk at a fenced in, grassy, empty lot. This spot is the site of a (now demolished) house where a unique international organization was founded several years ago. The two documents from the web addresses above are pages from the annual newsletter of this organization. Take a photo of yourself holding the coathanger at this location and upload it, as proof that you were here. If you are alone, a photo of your coathanger hanging on the fence will suffice. Use the newsletter pages from the web addresses above to answer the following questions and learn the Stage 3 coordinates: C= half of the number of digits in the 2nd word exclaimed by the International Ambassador at the event described in the article “Catapulting Millennium Membership to Europe” D=1st digit of the age of the Romanian girl described in the article “Is the Mailman in Love?” E=number of dollars paid by the mailman for his Ebay purchase F= from the article entitled “Raz Speaks”, the number of digits in the name of the animal that Raz suggests sponsoring through the World Wildlife Federation Use these digits as follows for the 3rd stage location: FB degrees C5.E6C 8B degrees EC.6ED These coordinates will bring you to the Ambridge Senior Citizen Rest Area! You will see a mural, which was painted by the children of a local camp. Look at the mural and the gate here to finish the puzzle and go in search of the final cache: G=the # of letters of the word on the gate H=the # of letters in the 3rd word on the mural The final cache coordinates are: FB degrees C5.5HB GB degrees EC.GBH The cache container is small and has been recycled from an archived cache. The cache is hidden in a public location, so please use stealth when hunting and rehide it well. Please let us know if the cache needs a new logbook or any other maintenance. Enjoy your Amazing Ambridge Adventure!!! Many thanks to Smash102 for his help with making Stage 2 of this cache accessible! |

Found this one after work with ekimdam. There are many adjectives to use for Ambridge, Amazing isn't one that I'd pick first....hehe This was an interesting cache, we got to witness ambridge in its glory during the 5pm hour. Boy there are some characters in this town. I took the geocoin and left nothing. The container was too small and packed full of stuff as it is. We met a guy in town that was using his metal detector in the park and he knew what geocaching was because he found one on accident in bradys run park while metal detecting. Was kinda cool....
