Parking is on the wide paved area on the West (right) side by the unused center booth, at about N43° 58.010', W103° 13.112'. Cache is not a far walk from here. THIS IS A DAYTIME CACHE (there are coyotes in the area and there could also be a mountain lion hunting rabbits at night).
We needed a cache in this area of the Black Hills, so we created one today. This is a trad cache, about 5" X 5" X 4", a good location for small TBs that need to move, since a lot of folks come here from all over the U. S. Initial geoswag is a Winnie the Pooh crib toy, pink rubber frog, Coast to Coast hat pin, Doran keychain and orange waterproof match case, plus a pencil and small notebook log. This is not a cache for children, not due to content, but you will see why if you find it. Watch for muggles driving and walking by, or on bicycles. There's also a paved bike path nearby. Some stealth is therefore in order. We are members here and love it. Take the time to drive past the cache area, then turn left at the "Y," continue to the main, real security gate (the right of the "Y" goes to the horse arena), and ask for a tour or to drive through. Many locals have memberships. |
