A regular cache in a preserved open space area, off of Rt 130 No. in Washington Twnshp. This area is maintained by the New Jersey Fish & Wildlife Service.

This is a nice cache to take older kids, but not small children, as it is necessary to walk 5-10 minutes down some trails through the woods, and up and down a few small hills. There is just a bit of bushwacking at the end. There is fishing in the area. You may encounter deer, small game and nice birds too.
Please park at the following coordinates:
N 40 14.143, W 074 35.201
The cache is hidden in a 50mm Ammo Can. I am calling this cache Needful Things because I would like to maintain fairly high quality and useful cache contents. I am starting it off with some useful stuff. No little trinkets or keychains, smurfs, hotwheels cars, or toy soldiers. Of course, Travel Bugs are always welcome. I would really like to keep the cache maintained with useful items, in working condition. That is its theme.
If you arrive at the cache with nothing particularly useful, it is fine to Take nothing, Leave nothing, Take your picture with the enclosed camera and Sign the log. I would appreciate your cooperation.

Please maintain the cache quality. Trade Up, Trade Even or Don't Trade. No Cache-Trash Please.

1 Can Anheuser Busch Emergency Drinking Water (Good for a year)

I've contacted the CO to confirm, but the GC listing of the cache was archived about 4.5 years ago, after going missing.

Given that and the recent log, I'm thinking it is not there and should be retired/archived here.

I've had this cache in my GPSr for years, thinking some day I'd go after it. Oddly, not a single find since hidden in 2006, so I was all the more intrigued. So this was my "prime objective" cache for this off-Friday caching adventure. I didn't have parking coords, so I parked along the side of the road and hiked in along the field (not suggested, since I noticed No Trespassing signs on my way out). After some bushwhacking, I emerged onto the field, and made my way to GZ. I spent at least 1/2 hour for this cache, but came up empty-handed, even after widening the search radius. It was clear that the area is frequented based on the debris laying around, the "geotrail", and the pile of sticks near the creek/ditch. Not sure if the CO removed the cache, or if it was muggled, but I'm quite certain it's not there anymore. Since it appears I'm the first visitor in the five years this one's been around, I'm hoping the CO will check it out and let us know if it's missing or not. Unfortunately, this was my first of several DNFs today (including the geocache not too far from here).
