Shuswap Bushman's Cache
-----------------------
We spent a week on a houseboat and placed this cache while beached at 4-Mile Creek. It is only accessible by boat but may yet be found before this season is over. The cache is in a large square plactic margarine container and wrapped in a green plastic garbage bag to hopefully keep things dry.

This beach is one of our favorites and not very far from where we beached for the night. Tree cover is fairly solid and it was a challenge to get a good reading at the hiding place. According to the people who rented the houseboat, the Bushman of the Shuswap's hidout was only about 50m south of where the beach ends and where the rocks start. Apparently it is in a cave amongst the rocks. We didn't look for it and rumor had it that the RCMP plan to destroy it at some point. Although at the time we placed the cache, it was supposed to still be there.

There is a trail that starts up from one of the creeks. Use 51 5.0897N 118 53.7965W as the starting point. And just follow the on again, off again trail.

For those wondering about maintaing the cache, we've already booked another boat for next September when we'll check on it.
