The cache is located on The City of Rochester Watershed. You must have a permit, which is free. You can download and print the permit right from your PC by going to:
http://www.ci.rochester.ny.us/watershed.pdf or pick one up at the self-service kiosk located at N42 46.747 W077 36.453. When I decided to locate a cache someplace in this area I had no idea exactly where or what I would call it. I was INSPIRED by the natural beauty of the area and hope you are too. We are fortunate to have this undeveloped, unspoiled natural area to enjoy. There are so few places that you can hike and see the land as it was when Native Americans were the only inhabitants of this area. As you stand at INSPIRATION POINT you may feel you have traveled back in time as I did when I was there. |

Open Log: Personal use only This cache has been on my to-do list for quite awhile and I was near this area today and I had my mountain bike in the back of my truck with me so I thought I would give this cache a try. It has been a while since I had done a Rocky cache and today was a day made for this type of caching experience. I arrived at the parking area and there was a State Trooper pulling radar duty sitting there, I proceeded to unload my bike and I made sure that I had my permit in my pocket before I started my journey. The trooper kept a watchful eye on me and then decided to leave the area so this was a good sign that I wouldn't have any trouble doing this cache. The road leading back to the cache was in really good shape and I made the 2 mile trip in about 12 minutes. Along the way I passed a couple paddling a canoe along the shoreline. It was such a beautiful Fall day and I was really enjoying the trip to this cache. I arrived at the end of the road and I made the trek into the small woods between me and the shoreline. I couldn't believe how low the water was and how far out the water was from the shoreline, it definitely has been a dry summer. I went into search mode and I didn't find the cache right away, I became a little concerned that maybe the cache had been muggled because there was a crude lean-to erected nearby. I decided to take another reading with my GPS and this time it led me to a more promising spot. I located the cache after a quick search of the area and it was very well hidden since the newest coating of leaves had covered it. Rocky you never cease to amaze me at the beautiful places you can find to place a cache. This place was so peaceful, removed, and inspirational. I signed the logbook and left a geocoin in the cache to lure others to find this place. Right after I re-hid the cache the couple in the canoe paddled by me and waved. Thanks again for the memorable caching experience that you provided with this cache. -Paleoman52-

Open Log: Personal use only Nice hike into this cache. A few fishermen were out and quite a few kayakers on the lake. Walking down the path the views were great. Took about five minutes for Smiley to find the cache. She always finds them. She's getting to good at this. The cache was in good shape. Thanks for leading us down this scenic trail.

Third times a charm! First try ended in darkness, second occured while cache was missing in action and then on the holiday, my wife (Ginny), son (Evan), nephew (Andrew) and myself biked in and found it quickly. The day was still beautiful so we lingered at the point for a good hour, resisting the temptation to take a dip in the lake as this is prohibited. Then decided to head over to Canadice for another.

Open Log: Personal use only The three of us first set out to find the Tally-ho Tour cache but after we met up with a couple who had been looking for the first part cache for over an hour without any luck we didn't spend much time there. Is it possible that it has gone missing? We thought we would jump over to find the Inspiration pt. cache but that didn't work out either. I know that one is there because my friends found it a few days before. The real problem was the darkness. We set out from the parking spot at 8:45 and it was way too dark to find anything by the time we were at the point. It WAS a beautiful night for a walk and bright enough starlight that we didn't need the flashlight to find our way out (about 10:00). All in all, a great trip and we'll go back soon to find it.

Went in the same way with BalloonPilot & CkickenLips. Man what a trip out and of course it was warm enough to sweat a little. Even so the experience at the site was worth the trip out. This place is a skipping rocks heaven. Took a Baby Huey video and left a chess puzzle.

I was hoping to be the first since there were no other log entries, but we were beat by others! What a beautiful spot! You can almost hear the trees grow it was so quiet! A place like this is so much more enjoyable when there is no odor of gasoline and oil and no jet skis.
