The cache is located in a seldom used section of the Mariner’s Museum Park. The area is about 100 acres of heavily wooded forest. It lies northeast of the main park across Warwick Boulevard. I found the best place to park is in the parking lot of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. (N37° 03.177 W076° 28.380) Walk NW approximately 2000 feet along Gatewood Road to the trailhead. (N37° 03.406 W076° 28.652) There are old "no trespassing" signs posted, but the updated sign advises that the area is open for recreation between sunrise and sunset. I called to verify; no mountain biking is allowed, and they requested that dogs remain on a leash. Bring some water and good hiking shoes. (and insect repellant of course)

Wow! This was a great location. We found it after a somewhat premature left... A pretty nice hike though.

Open Log: Personal use only Visiting from New Jersey for the week so I'm hitting the area caches. Found the trailhead but to be completely legal, parked a short distance away on another residential street. Then it was a relatively easy walk albeit a bit longer because the trail went around the finger of the lake. Nice beaver dam and small wooden bridges along the way though. Saw the interesting hiding method from a good distance away. Very unusual. Thanks.

Open Log: Personal use only After treking in, got within 0.06 miles of the cache then said dammit and treked back out to the right trail. took the high road and wandered around and around on the trail, I think the trail must have been mapped out by VDOT. Found the cache and was promptly swarmed by blood suckers (mosquitos, not lawyers) Took some bug repellant from the tube, left spiderman figure. Took picture of the female members of the crew
