The cache container is a retrired .30 cal. ammo can, painted black with white lettering identifying it as a geocache. The trail to this cache, starts out very mellow but indeed gets a little hairy as you get closer to the cache. The terrain difficulty on this one gets higher with the presence of ice & snow. Don't bring the kids along when these conditions exist. The container is a retired .30 cal. ammo can, painted black with white lettering identifying it as a geocache. The contents are the usual stuff with most of it being handy stuff for adults. Also included is a log book to log your adventure & a few wheresgeorge bills. .30 cal. is relatively small, so don't bring along anything large for an exchange. The views from the cache location are great. But don't get too close to the edge without a parachute. I'll include a few pics. Enjoy --Gimpy--

Used the GPS to get close but took a while to actually find the cache. Took a small magnifying glass, army guy, Spam can, and a little truck. Left Plastic Kangaroo, star wars escape pod, necklace, and rubber duck.

Great hike. We've done this mountain many times before the cache was placed here. Weather was hot and clear. Signed the NYS log book mentioning the cache and educated a few gawkers along the way.

Third of three finds today. This was a great climb, we went all the way to the fire tower. Cache was well off the trail, many off-trail options to consider. Great hide, great view. Highly recommend the hike up the "Dragon's Back" to the summit. Took 'biner, left kid's Vertex cap.

Cache 3 of 5 today.

Talk about a heck of a workout!!! Especially if you were my husband with a backpack on and a 3-year-old on your shoulders! After huffing and puffing our way up, we got within 40' of the cache. Then it was up to me to bushwack a bit while my husband pointed me in the right direction. (Stable GPS is much easier to nav with, so we've discovered.) Found it with minimal difficulty if you don't count the walk up.

Took: Nothing but trash back out
Left: Alien with parachute, army guy, hacky sack, and of course signed/stamped the log book.

Finally got up here. We were visiting our family in Utica and did our typical trip up to Bald Mountain. Great hiding spot. Took nothing, left nothing. Enjoyed the view as we always do.
