We had time to search around our area and we have found a nice quiet place for all to visit. We do ask that once you have set your sites on the target that you please try to keep the area nice. It is inhabitted by beautiful wildlife and some floral covering. We had a chance to walk the well marked trails and warn against having boots or some form of Mud shoes. It may come in handy.

The usual warnings apply with the poison ivy, as it is noted in NY. And Skeeters will play a factor here so please remember your protection.

I've spent some time hiking in the swamp the past two days and thought I'd look and see if this cache is still there. It is indeed, and in great condition as well! TNLNSL. Used the bug spray (thank you!). Great cache.

I've been psyched about Navicache only caches, so when I e-mailed the owner and they said they thought the cache was still there, I had to make plans to find it.

Decided to try to find this and the nearby GC.com "Eaten Alive" cache. Thought the bad weather predicted for Saturday morning would work in my favor. Came prepared for bugs by covering my whole body -- long pants, gloves, hat, raincoat with hood -- and 15" high wellington boots for the muck. The skeeters were still out in full force though. Found cache without a problem. It's in fantastic shape. It looks like a newly placed cached rather than one that has been here for years. Certainly no worse for the wear of not being found in over 2 years!

Had to take my gloves off to sign log and the skeeters attacked. Not really a moment to sit and savor the cache area while reading the logbook I'm afraid. Took Nothing. Left devil duckie. SL. Took photo (mostly of my boots since I was alone) -- should be whatever photo is "12 left".

Glad to visit a place with significant local geocaching history (Wheelygood's first cache).

Things didn't go as well at the "Eaten Alive" cache. You can read about it over at gc.com.

As a lifetime Rochester resident, I've had a general awareness of the 1000 acres swamp, but never really knew where it was. Thanks for bringing me here.

Thanks for the cache!

Well, well well. I was the first one this year to make a log entry on this cache. very nice hide. Some flooding but walked on dry patches. Was a sunny, breezy day. Clever spot. It took some looking but found it. Took a picture with camera. Took 0 - left 0. Had fun!

Decided to finally go after this one. Figured the bugs would be at a minimum. We did manage to find a few mosquitos but it was tolerable. Meet another geocaching team in the area and together we searched every possible hiding spot. It does pay to walk away and come from a different direction. Took nothing, left nothing.

What a nice area back in here. Glad I came early in the morning...not many bugs. Will have to come back in the Fall to explore more of these trails. Took nothing; left nothing.
Thanks for the hide.

We looked for this one on the fourth, but forgot the bug spray. It didn't worry me until I overheard two of the medium sized mosquitos plotting to carry off my youngest. Anyway, we came back today with about an quarter-inch of bug spray coating our skins. Thanks!

Another newbie success story! Bagged our very 1st cache. What better way is there to tip your hat to Father's Day than to take your wife, and your 7 & 5 yrs olds and go slop through the mud after how many " of rain?? New day pack and GPS said let's go! Gee we had no idea the cache would be hidden so far off the trail. Hmmm... I can feel some serious moral discussions just around the corner. We need to remember who came first when asked not to stray from the established trail. Anyhow we had a ball, nice to have a breeze to keep the bugs away. We took a buck, a key chain, koosh ball and a photo. Left a buck, hand clappers, a cow and a rain gauge.
Thanks to the Delta Team.

Found it! I actually looked for it briefly last year, but didn't find it. I hadn't had a copy of the cache details, and wasn't sure if the coords were right. I went back today, and found it easily. I was close, but in a slightly different spot than I was looking in before, so I am pretty sure the coords may have had one of the least significant digits misentered. I signed the log, and snapped a pic on the camera. I didn't take/leave anything. Pretty muddy out there right now. Thanks!

This was a nice walk with a lifelong friend and prospective cacher on his birthday. Our wives went to do some shopping (their loss) while we made the search. The weather was warm, about 45 deg. and no bugs were flying. Armed with my trusty GPS I made my way toward the cache as I tried to explain it's workings to my pal. When I neared the general area I made a couple of circles trying to zero in the location while the "birthday boy" stood watching me from a distance and I would bet wondering if I had the faintest idea of what I was doing. Just as I was about to reverse directions I heard my friend say “here it is”. He had stopped to blow his nose which caused him to look in the right direction at just the right moment. Being an experienced hunter with a keen eye for details I am sure helped. We signed the log, recorded our visit with a picture, left an token and took nothing. From now on I’ll call him “eagle eye” when we go caching.

Today was the first time doing this. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was great. I got out and saw some new places. I actually did four of these today with my buddy and my dog. This one was my favorite. Great spot! I didn't understand the imposter thing though.

Holy $%#@! was there bugs today! I was the one running around in circles screaming my head off wishing I was dead.
Thank god for whoever placed the bug-boo in the cache, I'd kiss that person if he or she were here right now. I am sure the bugs are not bad at all when it is a bit dryer out. But what a very nice place this is to hike about. Area is well marked from within and the people who maintain this site have done a wonderful job. We were cautious of making any known sign of our visit, but we did have a few muddy footprints to give a clue to us.
You guys did a fantastic job on this one.

I took a picture and traded wheres georges. Caron added a nice cd holder.

I sprayed myself with the bug-boo as if it were cologne, stuff isnt half bad once you get past the taste!
Logbook got signed and we placed it as we found it.
I left flames ripping off my heels on the way back to car.
I had hopes that the mother-in-law would draw the bugs to her so I would be safe. If I had some honey I'd have dumped it on her and tossed her to them as a sacrifice!

Hey Clan! Did you see my entry in the logbook when you arrived shortly after me? The Imposter heard you coming & hitched a ride with me. I know you appreciated the bug spray I left for PERMANENT residence in this cache!! This is very delicate muckland & I had some reservations about leaving the conservation trail/boardwalk to bushwack. The Nature Conservancy has even fenced off some of the native lily near this cache. I walked very carefully to not crush them, the trillium & the jack-in-the-pulpit. Moving slowly, I got pix of a bedded doe on the way in & a standing buck on the way out. They weren't afraid of my yellow lineman boots ;^) Took nothing, left a $5 WheresAbe bill for free tracking (please don't sign it). PS: lots of butterflies & moths as the milkweed is blooming. Raspberries will be ripe in a week.

I taught school for years and many classes went to this Sanctuary but never my class. Some adult groups I belonged to toured this area but I was never able to go. Now I see why it was so attractive to groups. It must be wonderful in the spring especially. Coyote and I did not see any animals but lots of birds some of which I think were really mosquitos. We used spray before we entered and I used more that was in the cache, thanks! It was not an easy find but Coyote was able to go almost to the cache with me. I did not get lost!! Took a mini puzzle left a lunch box M&M shaped freezer cube. Great cache Delta Team! Gamma Kitt & Coyote
