This cache is hidden as part of the 2nd Vancouver Island Hide-&-Go Cache
Event, February 25, 2006.

Please ignore the above coordinates - they will simply place you in the
middle of a road in the Greater Victoria area that is a motorcyclist's
delight.

The cache name, Half Slice, is an anagram of a Natural Feature located in
the Greater Victoria area.

To determine the actual cache location, do the following:

Solve the anagram.

Once you have done this, number each unique letter of the result
sequentially from left to right, starting with the number 1.
Using the numerical value generated for each letter, substitute each
letter in the original anagram with its corresponding number to generate a
nine digit number, to be called the "Generated Number".

As an example:

If the Cache Name (the anagram) had been: LEAVE BREAK
The name of the Natural Feature would be: BEAVER LAKE
Sequentially assigning numbers to unique letters would result in:
B=1, E=2, A=3, V=4, R=5, L=6, K=7
Applying these values to the letters in the Cache Name results in:
6234215237 (the "Generated Number")- (Note: this number is for example
purposes only).

To calculate the final coordinates, do the following:

For the northing (in ddmm.mmm) Divide the "Generated Number" by
132191.1458134900586

For the westing (in dddmm.mmm) Divide the "Generated Number" by
51780.6518639230755

For convenience, round your answers at the 13th decimal place.

Cache is a medium/small Lock-n-Lock, painted black, which contains:

Wonderful place - really enjoy this kind of quick steady "pike sheet" - and I do like my puzzles easy! Thank-you Viguy for again hiding a hiking cache in the annual blitz.

I was fourth I believe, but took a scratch ticket that was intended for 2nd-to-find, and left a keychain LED light.

At home later the ticket was not a winner, and as it turned out, there was another one (intended for 3rd-to-find) nestled behind it. Will leave this one unscratched and put it into the next Viguy cache I find.

Found out about this website while doing another. A very clever and enjoyable cache to track down. A beautiful spot and a great hike. Thanks a lot for the fun.
