Located in a park just west of Sodus Point on Lake Road.

The Lake Ontario property, called Camp Beechwood, is a former Girl Scout camp in the town of Sodus. The land was identified in the 1998 New York State Open Space Plan as a priority for protection because of it's invaluable assets, including 3,500 ft. of shoreline, marsh land and mature forest. The Girl Scouts began the camp in 1929 and had used it as a recreation camp.
Many trails and camp buildings along the way. The cache is a 50 cal. green ammo box.

Parking at N 43° 15.908, W 077° 01.577

This was a PERFECT hide. We enjoyed this cache immensely and really appreciate the experience. Seeing the old camps sites and walking through all the trails was very enjoyable. The hide was in a GREAT spot and in GREAT shape. We took a few items and left a whole bunch more. Truly a GREAT cache!

Wow; this would be a great place for a campout...better yet...a caching event...hummm. Can you imagine what it must have been like in it's hayday. Hundreds of girls enjoying the summer...campfires, crafts, sing-a-longs and the list goes on. Reminds me of my day's at Girl Scout camp. I wonder whatever happened to all those badges.
Thanks for the adventure and the memories.

Very wet, very tired, very glad I gave this a go!

One of the better caches I have done thus far.
A bit gloomy today but made for a great day to pull in a cache or two while on my way home from visiting a friend out east.

I hope to see everyone at the Geocachers picnic next week in Durand park.

Thank you so much for the great hide. Left a flag pin and took a memory of a great scenic view.

Found it at 9:30 AM. What a nice area. Liked the walk to the lake. Took nothing, left nothing.

Hip Hip HURRAY! Young Darcy got to shout out Huckle Buckle Beanstalk! So she quickly opened to box and laid claim to the Colts cup and a Where's George buck was left in it's place. Bridget filled in our log.

Thanks for a fun hide and we will come back to explore more of the park.

highly recommend this one to everyone. very nice area and lots of trails and places to explore. the old buildings make it seem like you're walking through a ghost town. nice hiding spot as well. thanks for the hunt.
