This is the first cache placed in the Pallars Jussà county (comarca). It is placed inside a canyon, with a weak GPS signal, so you have to rely in other geocaching skills.
The cache place can be reached from the South or the North (or from the East if you want to do some rappel. If you are coming from the West you need to be a good rappeler, swimmer and climber). I recommend the North access.You have to leave the road Tremp-Puente de Montañana in the point N42º08.801 E0º41.973 Approx. 2,7 Km later you have to take an unpaved road and arrive at the parking place at N42º05.892 E0º41.766 From there you can head to the canyon. The coordinates of the cache are in fact the coordinates of the last point with some GPS signal.That point is a bend in the path from which you can see a cave at a higher point (bearing 20º). You have to leave the path at this point and go up until the cave. The cache is in a plastic container, in a crevice, at the left side of the cave, covered with some stones. All the way is suitable for small children except the final climbing. This cache is not advisable for people with vertigo. --------------------------------------------------------- El sitio del cache se puede alcanzar tanto desde el Sur como desde el Norte (o desde el Este si se quiere hacer un buen rappel. Si se llega desde el Oeste, se ha de ser un buen rapelador, nadador y escalador). Es recomendable el acceso desde el Norte. Dejar la carretera Tremp-Puente de Montañana en el punto N42º08,801 E0º41,973 Aproximadamente 2,7 Km después se ha de tomar una pista sin asfaltar que lleva al parking en el punto N42º05,892 E0º41,766 Desde allí se inicia la aproximación al desfiladero. Las coordenadas del cache de hecho son las del último punto con una señal de GPS estable. Ese punto se encuentra en un recodo del camino desde el que se ve en lo alto una cueva (rumbo 20º). Ahí se ha de abandonar el camino y empezar a subir hasta la cueva (a trozos con ayuda de las manos) que está a unos 5 minutos. El cache está en un tupperware, dentro de una grieta de la roca, en el lado izquierdo de la cueva, cubierto con algunas piedras. El camino es apto para niños excepto los últimos metros de ascensión. Las personas con vértigo difícilmente disfrutarán de este cache. |
