The cache is accessible to a strong wheelchair user, when the trail is dry. We'll try to keep the poison ivy clipped.
This cache location is a great place to enjoy birds and the other features of a rich, diverse habitat! Logistics: If you visit between 8 am and 5 pm, you can park 1/3 mile away. If you visit between 10 am and 4:30 pm (noon to 4:30 pm on Sundays), you will also have access to drinking water, restrooms, and friendly help. If you visit before 8 am, or plan to stay after 5 pm, or if you visit on a City holiday, you will have to park 2/3 mile away, and you won't have access to the drinking water, restrooms, or friendly help. There is a curfew, and you may not visit the cache between 9 pm and 5 am. If you visit on Saturday or Sunday, between April 1 and October 31, there is a $1/vehicle entry fee after 9 am and before 5 pm. Pets are not allowed at Oxley Nature Center, but leashed ones can enjoy other areas of Mohawk Park. Bicycles are permitted on paved areas, but not down the trails. Mosquitoes can be bad in the spring and early summer. Ticks can be a problem during warm weather, but you should be able to find this cache without too much trouble from them, or from chiggers, since it is only a few feet from a trail. |
