Presque Isle seems to have a lot of brown ticks this year. Bring the bug spray!

Your cache, a green .50 caliber ammo can, is hidden approximately 280 feet off one of the many trails located within the State Park. The trail you want is he Dead Pond Trail which travels away from the beaches. The cache is under a fallen log and contains many little gifts. Free maps are available at the Park Office building within the park, 2-3 miles past the entrance gate, on the right hand side. We recommend this if you are not familiar with the park. Let the GPS unit do the work for you on this cache as the tree cover is light. The signal should be good. Insect spray is recommended for the mosquitoes and possible ticks.
Presque Isle State Park offers many things to do, such as: swimming, water skiing, boating, cycling, fishing, roller blading, bird watching, picnicing, and ice fishing and cross country skiing in the winter. Park closes at sundown and there is no admission fee. Come and have fun! Enjoy the historic maritime information offered at Erie's bayfront. Please fill out the log book, feel free to take something and leave something, and put the cache back where you found it.

Looked for this one with Mr. Midnight and Gforce84 after doing some canoeing in the lagoons.
Tried to take the wrong tail at first and had to backtrack and get on the right one.
Easy find in a familiar spot once we got there.

Completed this on our last day of vacation before we headed home. Found about 12:45pm. Took alligator clip and left a keychain lantern. Thanks for showing us around Presque Isle, we had a terrific 4th of July!

Hi! Thrill Seekers here, the cache hiders. Wanted to let you know that we took the Rubbermaid container and placed it inside a green .50 caliber ammo box, since a critter thought the lid tasted good.

3/23/02 - Travelling with MrMom & Goo. A little cold but wind was finally beginning to die down. First cache of three today. GPS led us straight to the spot. Located it within minutes (my first find) at 4:35pm. Took the wire ring puzzle, left a superball & purple jellyfish, and a hitchhiker, Red M&M dude we found in Rochester last week.

Hi! This was our second of 2 caches that we did while at Presque Isle today. We came to Erie 2 days before to complete the Lord of The Rings multicache. We did that in a day so decided to check out a few more caches before we left.

Today was definatley worse weather wise than the previous day. The wind howled, the temps were in the 30s and my faced which had not recovered from the wind burn of yesterday, stung as we set off.

The trail was pleasant but the wind made it a bit tough on Butterfly girl who quickly became a Butterfly Dragon....her red thin pants did nothing to keep her warm.......

Anyway...we used his and hers GPS to find the spot and although we each went in different directions we arrived at the cache at the same time.

It was in very good shape but a bit full. We removed a set of magnents (Eversure says thanks as these will go in his jr HIgh locker), a flag pin for Butterfly girl and a pair of nail clippers for me as mine were broken. We replaced these with a wire ring puzzel, a where's george $1, a new pair of warm gloves as my hands were freezing as I wrote a note........

and a travelor.....SEABREEZE THE TURTLE......he started out near rochester and can be logged at navicache. He now had a signature blanky that is velcroed to his belly. This has a pocket for information on how to keep track of him. Please do not keep him but let him venture off in your beautiful state.

This is a late entry as I wasn't aware of the navicache.com site and I listed my find first on www.geocaching.com

Came over from Ohio today and found three PA caches today-this our 2nd (at 1430)out of 3. A very cold gray day with strong breeze blowing off lake, but dry at least and we were having fun-I love this new hobby. Wanted to come before tick season as I wanted to bring my dog hence our February visit.

My friend spotted the cache first,then stood in front of it saying cache was in plain sight. Of course I looked everywhere but where my friend was standing-very funny! Goto feature had me walking in circles for a short time as it said the cache was 20 feet away, but when I flipped to coordinates page on my GPS I discovered I was right next to it-my GPS coordinates were dead on. I've learned already not to count on the goto feature alone-now I use both features:)

Left a Large Travel Mug and several dog food & treat coupons for dollars off stuck inside. Everything fit okay, but I put some other items in the mug as well to make it fit. Took poncho and CD (CD left in PI Lighthouse Cache 1/2 hour later). Had fun-thanks for another great geocaching experience. zoisrus&zephyr&friend

Found this cache before I joined Navicache so I am just logging it now. Very straight forward cache but I had a lot of fun. I took my cousin to this cache for his first time and he got hooked! I found out later that I took the long way but it was a nice hike.

This was an easy cache after a nice little walk. Living here I really should spend more time hiking out this way, didn't see any hunters which was good. Took a couple bucks and left a CD.
