Island Creek Mound is just off U.S. 52 near the Twin Island Boat Ramp. This prehistoric mound has not been excavated. The mound is about five feet tall and heavily overgrown with trees and brush. The builders of this mound have not been identified but reports of both Adena as well as Fort Ancient constructs were discovered close by. There is also a newly built Nature Works Fitness Trail nest to the mound you may or may not want to try out.
