This is a newly revamped geocache located at Carrollton Nike Park in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. The park is on Highway 669 (Nike Park Rd). The original cache was placed in Sleepy Hole Park in Suffolk, Virginia on 7/6/2002 but went missing after Isabel.

If you found the original cache, please feel free to seek out this cache and log it again as a new find!!
The original owners moved away and let us adopt their cache. Unfortunately, Hurricane Isabel really let Sleepy Hole Park have it. The cache was likely removed by workers and it is missing now. We tried to rehide in the same park but it was so devastated, there are not any good spots to hide the cache as they are not done with the cleanup.

So, we decided to place it in Carrollton Nike Park, a quiet little park in Isle of Wight. Previously, the land belonged to the US Gov't as the Nike Missile Site.

Follow the trail with white blazes. This trail is also for mountain bikes, if you are so inclined. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Pagan River. Please stay on the trail and DO NOT cut though the farmer's field as a short cut.

This is a "superhero" themed cache, which was the original theme. Anything relating to superheroes is good for trade (ie comic books, action figures, coloring books, playing cards, etc). You can put anything in there from Spiderman to Firemen to Batman to U.S. Military.

The cache is a regular ammo box. There is a camera included, too so don't forget to take a picture

Just joined here, so logging some finds.

Great trails! Not having the cache page, I didn't realize this was a superhero theme. Sorry! I really enjoyed the hike to this one with the water views!

The pair-o'medics have permitted us to adopt this cache since they have moved out of Virginia. And thanks to Quinn for changing the ownership so quickly.
The old cache was destroyed by Hurricane Izzy and today we tried to place a reincarnated Fortress of Solitude near the same spot. Unfortunately, there is so much damamge to Sleepy Hole Park that we could not find an especially suitable--or safe--spot. There are still clean up crews working there. We've got an ammo box loaded and ready to go. Hopefully, we can get this cache back operational very soon.

Lots of mosquitos! Just couldn't seem to keep them away from me today! Nice cache in good shape, not much in it relating to superheroes anymore though. Trail was a little muddy from all the rain. Took Lunch box cooler, Cacheola Crew bookmark, and geocaching button. Left an army skydiver, bead bracelet, and yellow ribbon pin. Also traded out Where's George $. Camera is used up!

We found this on August 10 - just a little slow to log at Navicache :)

We finally came back to Sleepy Hole after our cache there was stolen! Found with little trouble, but we covered it up a little more because it was completely exposed. Left a Batman Pez dispenser and took a cache/trash bag and a PowerPuff girls book. Also took a picture - #10? cacheKidd 2 was wearing a green shirt and blue baseball hat.

Visiting from New Jersey for the week so I'm hitting the area caches. No problems finding the park. Drove in, parked in the campground and took a short walk on the path to the cache. Took just a little while to find the cache but it was pretty easy to spot from a certain direction. Thanks.

Used the letterbox clues and found them easily. The stamps were great and so was the supply of goodies. I left the Superman travel bug. Thanks for three great finds.
