The cache container is a retired 50 cal. ammo can, black in color, with white lettering clearly identifying it as a cache. Cache contents include the usual few kiddies trinkets & some stuff for grown-ups too. Also included are a single use camera to take a snapshot of yourself at the cache & a log book to chronicle your adventure. A few wheresgeorge bills are also enclosed. Take notice that the cache is located in a State Wildlife Management Area, and during hunting season, HUNTING IS ALLOWED IN THE AREA. IF you attempt to go after this cache during hunting season, take all proper precautions. Bright orange clothing, etc. When I placed the cache, there was plenty of evidence that white-tails are in the area. Semi-established trails exist, as do plenty of deer runs. Be careful & have fun!

Road Kill was there. This was the 1st of 3 targets today. The Garmin II was stable all the way but indicated about 30 feet to the west of the cache. Even at that the choice of places to look was limited.
Other cachers indicated problems with rivers in their path but I had no such problems. Took a picture, took a cigar for my son and left some cinnimon Altoids & a Polly Pocket with her friends. According to my son the cigar is a fine one.
On to Stony Brook Cache for one of Rocky's challenges.

9-16-01, Sunday, 6:10PM (sun just set below the hill)

I'm back. Swung down here after finishing work in Henrietta. Tried several approaches & talked to several locals about NaviCaching before the III+ homed in (reading 20' at the cache). This is a great deer hunting area with its natural barriers.

The box is tightly packed with golf balls, mini lite, koosh, plastic spiders for Halloween, poncho, classy cigar, AA batteries, sidewalk chalk, & mini light saber. Nothing struck my fancy (if only I had matches), so I left my usual 2 WheresGeorge.com bills for free tracking.

This is a clean area with no trash. I fluffed up the grass around the cache as I exited. The skeeters appear gone. Thanks Gimpy.
