The cache is a 2.5 litre Vantage container. You can get pretty close to the cache without going off-track (there are existing animal-type tracks which should be used).

This is a simple off-set cache which involves about a 1.5 km walk from the given waypoint to the cache. Please take the opportunity to learn something of our natural heritage. A diversion could even gain you a coffee or a ice cream.

The coordinates you need to work out are S32 ab.cde E115 fg.hij. To solve coordinates you need to visit the waypoint above and answer the following questions. The standard a = 1, b = 2, c =3 ... z = 26 formula is used unless indicated otherwise:

Coordinate element Question

a

In the months of May and June the chicks are "feeding on the nutritious
_______  ______ not available in other parts of the world" (six and
four letters). The eighth letter in this pair of words can visually be
mistaken for a numerical value. That numerical value equals a.

b

In the months of September and October, "the ________ (six letters)
travel thousands of kilometres to spend ..." The value of b is the
third letter minus four.

c November and December enlighten us to the feeding habits of the
visitors. We are told about four foods. Our interest is the second food
source (begins with the letter m). The number of letters in this word is the
value of c.

d In January and February a lot of energy is consumed to continue
something. That something is two words (nine and seven letters). Add one to
the value of the fifteenth letter to get the value of d.

e In July and August the "adults _______ south." Count the number of
letters in the missing word. That number equals the value of e.

f In March and April the visitors begin their journey to where? Two words
(eight letters and 10 letters). Divide the fourteenth letter by four to get
the value of f.

g In January and February a lot of energy is consumed to continue
something. That something is two words (nine and seven letters).  G
is equal to the value of the third letter.

h In the months of September and October, "the ________ (six letters)
travel thousands of kilometres to spend ..." The value of h is equal
to the value of the third letter.
