1917 Sante Fe Train Depot
Find the little bronze medallion affixed near the NE corner of the depot and log a benchmark while you're at it! The Atchison, Topeka, and Sante Fe railroad depot in Eureka, Kansas was built in 1917. The depot had tracks running along both sides of the building and was surrounded by a brick-paved surface. The depot was built at a cost of $14,400 in a time of a local oil boom by relatives of the founders of the Sante Fe railroad. The cache is a little black cylinder about 1" in diameter and 3 inches long. |
