Some very nice new trails will take you to the highest point in Essex County with a great view of the Atlantic Ocean, after you find this cache. Native Americans hold this hill very dear, treat it with repect!

This is my fourth cache to be placed. This one is "easy" to get to by trails that have been laid out on some very nice land that has just been opened for public use. The cache is on a hill, Powow Hill, which holds great importance to Native Americans; hence the name "Powow". From the parking area on the summit, there is a great view out to the Atlantic Ocean, the nuclear plant in Seabrook etc. I have known many people who have walked the trails and found arrow heads! There is a nice lake for recreational use year round. Treat the place with repect, there may be burials somewhere on this hill...
The easy way in, park at this point and it is a short walk: N42°52.107' W70°56.321'. I suggest you park here: N42°52.390' W70°56.589'; please follow some of the trails for some great hiking. The cache will take you on a good hike, about 3 miles roundtrip, with a VERY steep trail if you start at this last point, yea, but that is part of the fun! Enjoy! Camera for cachers to take their pics was left on 2/16/02; there is a camera for the taking also! Cache container was replaced on 6/19/02 due to a leak..all is dry now.

I was worried about finding this one so I brought some extra data along. It is pretty far into the woods and hidden generically. I made some good choices on paths to take and found a site that seemed right. The bugs were not bad so I was able to calmly poke around until I found the cache after just a few minutes. The best views I had were off to the east, which is where I came in from.
