The coordinates listed for this cache are actually just the entrance to the Orc's domain. You must be brave! You must endure the foul stench of Orcs all around you. Travel towards where the sun comes from, straight and sure until you reach the ladders of ascension. At the base of the ladders of ascension, you will find a bleeding yellow 'eye'. It is here that you will find the key to the treasure.

Cache box is a 30 cal ammo box painted to match the surroundings. It contains a log book, cache camera (to take a picture of yourself), and small assortment of trade items including a VHS edition of the animated Lord Of The Rings, a knife, a flashlight, a ring of power, a compass, etc.

Due to the nature of this cache, it should NOT be done alone. You should leave a cacheplan with someone detailing where you will be. You will need a dependable flashlight/headlamp, and should bring a backup light
for safety. You will be walking in a stream bed, so boots are recommended, or at least shoes that you don't mind getting wet, and have good traction on wet rocks.

Please make sure cachebox is well concealed when you are finished with it.

Please do not mark cache as found unless you actually reached it.

Completed the cave on Sunday with a friend of the family and my two daughters (11 and 16 - CupieDoll and Hakaishi) and go the key, but don't have time to prowl around for the cache proper.

Hakaishi and I came back today. It might have taken us only 15 minutes, but we took a wrong turn and spent nearly 2 hours on and around GZ. Just before I scored the cache I scrambled through a patch of poison ivy - my worst enemy. (Hint: if you find a large patch of poison ivy, you've climbed too high.)

Dropped Lord of the Caches geocoin (TB2339P)... I've been holding it all winter waiting for this find... mission accomplished!

The second cache of the day with a large group. Definitely wouldn't want to try this one alone. Thanks to Racer and Bo who organized this and everyone who tagged along. It was fun caching with a group.

We were right in the area a few weeks back doing some other caches but for some reason (like Bill is an idiot) we did not think to bring cords for this one.

This one was great!!

I just hope I find a suitable place to do something similar (imitation is the highest form of flattery).
When we got out of the 'Orc's Lair' with our skins bearly intact and turned the GPS back on, sats were terrible, we did manage a brief lock for bearing and distance but we didn't trust our instincts and went back to the surface of the human world for a good reading. After a round about hike and climb with sats fading in and out we ended up right where we first thought we were going!

Took flashy lights, left Lord of the Rings bookmark. Thanks for the great hide and all the work.

This was Awesome!

I loved the first hike and the actual hiding spot was very well done.

This was a great start to a very wet day of caching.

We had to log in quickly due to the rain. Took a light stick and left a couple things. The camera was either full or had dead batteries - I didn't play with it too much due to the rain.

The box 200 feet out could be and electrical box two meter readers were carrying when they were consumed by the Orcs.

THE TROLLS HAVE PLUNDERED!!!!
Here in middle earth, tensions are rising, and war is looming on the horizon. It would appear that the trolls have in fact plundered the treasure hidden not so long ago by the Orcs. Their plundering was horrible. The lid was ripped from the container, and the container was tossed far down the hill. Further, the container was completely empty. The only thing found in the Orcs' cave was an ugly creature, whom we managed to catch on film for your identification.
Seriously, due to coverage from trees, I could not get a satisfactory lock on the sats to give co-ordinates for where the cache actually was, but I can say it was approximately 200 feet west of the co-ords listed on this page.
Hinge has been notified.

well i guess it was ok ,this was easy for me .i lived in NORTH CAROLINA when i was a kid and we did that kind of stuff all the time.we went with upinyachit,and we had fun .my niece Katie ,splashad my butt with water so i did get wet.thanks for the find fourpack .
