I so very much appreciated everyone in attendance. You were fantastic!
It was a chance to renew the bonds formed as we met fellow cachers on the trail, through their posts, and at other picnics.

Many thumbs up to the event organizers and attendees.

I had a fantastic time, and decided to stay over Sunday and complete a few more caches. Thanks to the organizers for creating this wonderful event, and everyone who participated and pitched in to make it special. My legs are still sore from all that climbing.

The family had a most excellent outing on Saturday. Great company, food and conversation. Wished their was more time to meet and talk to everyone. The Wheelygood Team had a wheelygood time and was amazed at all the wheelygood food there was and all the wheely nice cachers we got to meet and talk with they were wheely interesting and the girls loved the wheely nice views from the wheely high up cliff edge and they also liked the wheely neat trinkets they got from some ? (huh) point cache and wheely enjoyed meeting Morgan and they think one puppy has wheely curly hair and we all wheely hope to see some of you sooner rather than later and we wheely wonder do you log the picnic as a find....

On a more serious note our thanks go to the Blackwatch Gang,Dekaner and friends as well as Quinn (even though we didn't win)

Thanks to so many for making the picnic so much fun and a great success. Coyote was worried in late July that there might be only a few present in such a large pavilion. Then about 10:00 AM Oct. 5 he worried we might not have enough room for all the wonderful cachers that began arriving. Even he is saying we have to do it again next year. The food was abundant and delicious. Every one pitched in to set up, cook, and clean up! Games were great fun; the prizes exceptional. Conversations were tops, especially getting aquainted with so many new faces but familiar names. We still marvel at the number of Travel Bugs and Hitch Hikers assembled in one spot. We hope some one has a record of which and how many were there. We can't wait to see pictures. I do agree with Team Smoke, one great memory will be their son saying, "No"! at the right time; it was funny. Geocachers are the nicest people!!!!! THANK YOU ALL!!! Gamma Kitt, Coyote & Hero

When I arrived no on was around. The doors were open and a radio was on the table to call. Brogan had been there but was out caching with his girls and said they would be back in a few minutes. After that cachers just kept coming and coming (Donna even got there eventually) to what turned out to be a fantastic gathering of cachers. First let me thank the organizers Gamma Kit, Coyote, Road Kill, Quinn, Dekaner and J-Ra and any others I don’t know about for all their work in setting up and running this special event. And a special thanks to Brogan for making the walking stick that I won for being 1st to the Letchworth Fall Gathering Cache. I so enjoyed meeting all those cachers that before this had only been an entry in some cache log I had found. My only regret is having missed many that I wanted to meet. There just wasn’t enough time with so many there. It was an extraordinary event and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Thank you so much to all who made this a great cacher's day picnic for us. 1st time to a picnic like this for us, hopefully not the last. Was so wonderful to meet the people whose names we have been seeing the past 5 months on the logs, and those who have hidden the caches we have been enjoying so much. Even my 16 yr old twins had a blast! Hope to see you all again soon on the trails!

Well, I must say that it was not what I expected. It was better! It was unbelievable that a bunch of strangers could work together and have such a turn out. An outsider would have thought we all knew one another!!! I am so glad we went, it was a great experience!

A special thanks goes to Gamma Kit for making us feel right at home. When we walked in, she was right there to greet us and her hospitality was impeccable; as was everyone else's.

Thank you for a great time!

For months I had been looking forward to this weekend as I knew it was going to be great. It ended up exceeding all of my expectations! Gamma Kitt, Roadkill, Dekaner, J-RA, Brogan- you realiy outdid youselves. Thank you so much for everything! We met so many wonderful people and had such an excellent time. I'm already looking forward to the next event. The only thing missing was DxChallegned and family, but I know we'll see her next time. Thanks again, guys !!!!!!

World class, superb, outstanding, and a lot of fun too!! Let me add our thanks to Road Kill, Gamma Kitt, Coyote, Hero, Dekaner and J-RA. It was nice to meet so many, say Hi again to so many others. The hospitality extended by the Windigo Team at their campsite on Friday night was just an another example of what great folks we meet thru this unique hobby of ours and why We’re proud to call ourselves GEOCACHERS.
Speaking of lost and found, on the way out we picked up a dead furry thing, Mrs. Rocky thought she saw that thing on someone’s head. I would gladly trade it for a picture I left behind. Can we do it soon, cause that dead critter really STINKS!!!

Our first cachers' get together was a great experience. It was nice to actually meet and see those people provide us with so much fun and adventure out there. The event was well planned and provided a lot of a new memories for us. We really enjoyed the “dash for the cache” adventure. thanks!

Found it! (Enjoyable that is) What a grand time.
I received many thanks and appreciative comments at the picnic and while there was a bit of work involved the real thanks goes out and back to all of you that participated and helped out. There wasn’t one instance were someone didn’t pop up and pitch in when something needed to be done. That really says a lot when you consider we really don’t know one another. I still am unable to claim that I could put half the names correctly with half the faces. Yet, the common ground of this foolish pastime, called geocaching, has built a family from total strangers.

I haven’t even started counting those that sighed in on the logbook but when I find the time to do that I will report my findings.

Speaking of “Findings”: someone left a black Corvette, a Rancher Quad runner, A monster truck and a Turbo flip racer at the picnic. Also found was a dark blue pullover windbreaker, size childs XL (14/16) and a photo of George, Brian & Pat at Stonybrook Cache. While I like the Corvette, I already have two vehicles. The windbreaker is a bit small and doesn’t go with my hat. However, knowing the photo might belong to Rocky makes me grin when I think about keeping it. Hee Hee.

Unfortunately it looks like I'm not going to be able to make it afterall, due to work screwing me at the last minute. Basically I have to work Sunday evening and I can't justify the 3 hour or so drive out there and then a 3 hour one back. I have thoughts of not going in since I put my two weeks in already, BUT the last thing I need is a bad reference. Maybe something will change, who knows. Majorly bummed because I was really looking forward to meeting everyone, and I was already to win a new GPS since mine pretty much died. Ahh well, hopefully I'll get to meet all of you at some spring caching event.

various caching I did. Issaquah Puppy came home and crashed. Great food. And the
Dash for the Cache was fun, though during the raffle, all the wrong numbers were
called (especially for the GPS).

Upon consulting the Great Geo GooRoo's, I have chosen
to Cancel the Happy Birthday Cache for Scrawny.
He cannot make it this weedend, due to things beyond
his control. Therefore, we will be dishing out the
140+ cupcakes at the lunch time.

Thats a good idea. I'll check around and see if I can come up with some "Near the Park" Bed and Breakfast locations for those that would like to live in the comfort zone (Like I would).

My daughter and I decided last night that we will attend. We are travelling from Richmond Hill, Ontario (Just north of Toronto).

I see that Catsup, Mustard & Relish are needed, I will bring.

We will probably be camping, but if anyone knows a good B&B that is close by I would appreciate hearing about it.

It looks like I missed the deadline for the Dam tour, let me know if there is still room.

I was wondering as a result of all the posts here just exactly how far people are coming for this event. If you could, please give us a town or city or perhaps state as to your starting travels. It would very interesting to see just what kind of draw this has on people.

The Lyndon Road Gang will be attending, we are 2 adults and 2 teens. We'll bring some munchies and rolls for the burger and dogs.

Possible needs:

3 cases of pop (72 cans) - Could use more
About 7 doz burger rolls – We need another 3 to 5 doz
Catsup, mustard, & relish are needed
A bag of ice or 2 would be a good idea.
More hotdogs and Hotdog rolls is also a good idea
I think more charcoal would be good too!
Grill tools; We have 2 of the flipper things for holding about 6 to 8 burgers or hots, & 4 pair tongs.


We have:

120 burgers, hots & rolls, cold cuts, deviled eggs. Road Kill will up his burger ante based on final numbers.
Desserts: a Birthday cake, a Geo cake, sheet cake, strawberry kiwi dessert, dessert?, cookies,& brownies.
Soups: Chili and chili bowls
plastic utensils 2 offers and plastic plates, 2 offers
Salads: 2 of 3 bean, 2 of Pasta, potato, fruit, chef, Ceasar, and macaroni
Veggies: Baking potatoes, 2 of Baked Beans, Veggies & dip
5 bags of charcoal & 1 lighter fluid
2 bringing trash bags, 1 for paper towels, 1 for napkins,
We now have access to 2 coffee pots (A 100 cup, & A 45 cup) and coffee, Decaf & Reg., half/half, sugar, & equal
1 bringing firewood for the fireplace.
Looks like we are going to eat well and stay warm if it is cold.

I have found a 100 cup coffee pot. We will use the 45 cup coffee maker for Decaf and the 100 cup coffee maker for regular coffee. If is cool we are ready! Gamma Kitt

We have gladly accepted the offer of a 45 cup coffee maker. I have been advised that for 100 people an additional coffee maker will be needed, especially if the weather is cool. Well, we have decided that we will be attending the picnic after all. We weren't sure whether or not we were gonna make it, but looks like our gps will be taking the six of us there.

We will be bringing fixin's for cold cuts (no cooking! :) ) We will also be bringing a sheet cake from Wegmans, plastic utensils, trash bags, and cold pop to share with all.

We are looking forward to this picnic considering we are still recouping from our vacation. I have been working everyday, even on football Sunday! So this will be a well deserved outing.

Can't wait to see you all again from the Navicache picnic in June as well as the newbies! See you in October!

I need to lay the rumor to rest that in conjunction with Evil Knievel Enterprises Hinge Thunder is planning the short route to my nearby Hogs Back Vistas cache.

Ok, I've mentioned it before but now I'll commit to it. I'll be there (may have other area cachers in tow), I've missed to many of these already. Really looking forward to meeting those people I missed last time I was out your guys's way. I'll get back to you with what I can bring

Not sure just how many, but I will be giving away at least one GPSR from Magellan via drawing for those that show up. There will be no charge just like before and I am certain you will like what it is!

Freediver, Yes bring your family, let us know how many and what food you wish to share.
So far there are 61 coming to the picnic. Some who have replied have not actually told the number in their group. Some have not told what they are bringing to share to eat. Food wise we have offers of hamburgers, hamburger buns (4doz.), 3 lg bags of charcoal & 1 fluid, (we need enough for 8 grills someone else might contribute some.), 2 offers of plastic utensils, & 2 offers of paper plates, 1 case of 24 pop, a salad, potato salad, pasta salad, caesar salad, possibly a fresh fruit salad, baked beans, chili, (Will someone bring bowls?), brownies, Geo cake, and chips.
I hope everyone remembers to read ALL of the introduction above. Did you note the Dam Tours, Badge Hide Activity, and Tethered Balloon rides (Weather permitting).

I, my wife, and of course, Issaquah Puppy, will be there. We will be camping the 200 loop (space 247).

Plans are made and locked. Bringing the family along for this event as well as Caron (okay, so she's family too!)
