Tulsa, Oklahoma 74115 United States Near By Caches
Hidden On: 30 May 2003
Difficulty:
Comments: Logistics: Wheelchair users may find the step at each end of the Warren Bridge across Coal Creek a challenge. Also, wheelchair users will be able to roll to a couple of feet above the cache, but may need assistance for the final vertical feet. Be sure to seal it up tight after you find it! If you visit during the Nature Center's open hours (8 am - 5 pm daily, closed most holidays), you may park at the Nature Center's parking lot. If you want to visit outside regular hours, you'll have to park out in Mohawk Park, outside Oxley Nature Center's main gate (the one with stone pillars.) Closest parking is at Shelter #4. Remember, Mohawk Park's gates open at 7 am and close at 9 pm! On weekends, April 1 - October 31, you'll need to bring $2/vehicle to enter Mohawk Park, unless you are a member of Friends of Oxley Nature Center or Zoo Friends. Pets are not allowed on the Nature Center trails, but leashed ones can enjoy other parts of Mohawk Park (if you want to include a 4-legged geocacher, you might want to do Sus scrofa hominis instead: N 36 13.263', W 095 56.029' or Witches Necklace at N 36 12.762' W 095 53.818' or "Green" Country at N 36 12.956' W 095 53.506'.)

Hoping it was not geocachers that left the cache open to the elements last summer, we enclose this tip for anyone who has never used this type of container: there are directions printed on the container itself on how to close it up to be waterproof. Also, on windy days, this cache could drift and become visible to muggles, so please chain it up tightly. Part of a letterbox series highlighting trails at Oxley Nature Center. The entire letterbox series at this printing is:
Original contents follow a wetlands theme.

Open Log: Non-commercial use only WOW! there has been some thougt put into this one. What a great cache! We loved this one, but it was in need of some maintenance. It was completely flooded, the blue stamp pad had dyed everything blue, except one container. We did our best to dry everything out and re-seal everything. This is still one of the best caches I have ever seen.
