Currant Creek Peak is, at 10,550 ft, the highest hill in the whole wide area sandwiched between (much taller) Uintah and Wasatch ranges. On a clear day, expect to see mountains up to a 100 miles away.
The cache is a large vitamin bottle placed a couple hundred feet below the summit of the peak is such a way as to be accessible year round. It was started with the usual assorted collection of toys, trinkets, and coins, including The Wrench Nut, a gamepiece in our local cache traveller game.
On this bluebird late winter day, we reached the site by skiing from the area of Daniel's Summit by the way of Bjorkman Fork, cutting straight to Shingle Mill Hollow divide. The descent route looped back along Willow Creek. The area is popular with snowmobilers, but, this being Utah, there very few of them around on this gorgeous sunny Sunday. Only one 'bile was close enough so we can wave hands. Will post a few pictures soon.
