Begin your search for this cache from the Zander Scott Trail to Giants Washbowl off of Route 73. Do not attempt to bushwack directly from the road! You will have to bushwack your way from the Giants Washbowl to the cache, but don't let the terrain fool you.

My favorite place in the world is here in the Adirondack Mountains of New York state. My time here has helped shape who and what I am and this cache is an attempt to show you some of the beauty of the region without hiking to the top of a mountain. Pack a lunch and enjoy the trail and the views!
The cache is a Rubbermaid container stocked with some great trade items. It does require a bushwack off of any established trail but it does not require any map and compass skills, just a careful look at the terrain and an explorers attitude. You should mark the spot that you leave the trail on your GPSr just for safety, you never know. No technical climbing skills are required. Trust your GPS and pick your way carefully. If you are unsure of your way, read the hint. If you are adventurous, go for it!

The name comes from the fact that I long to be in the Adirondacks anytime I can. This cache was placed here while I was accompanying a group of students and teachers from Livonia, NY high school on our annual trip to the Forest Preserve. If you have higher aspirations for hiking in the Adirondacks, remember that this cache is on the shoulder of one of the Adirondack 46... the 46 peaks above 4000 feet. A day trip including this cache, Giant Mountain and it's neighbor, Rocky Peak Ridge (another of the 46), will take you approx. 7 hours, depending.
