So is it the red one, the green one, or maybe the white?
Choose which ever you like, truth is they're all right.
But if you follow the red, the paths more direct,
Just be sure to keep going when red and white intersect.
When you arrive at a round tree that makes you see square,
Head in the right direction and it will take you right there.

Found it! At 1335. I almost gave up. When I started walking back toward the park restrooms when my eyes were not fixed on my GPS and saw the top of the lid exposed, nestled in the middle of three small trees and pine needles. Before actually finding it, I almost lost my GPS next to a fallen tree that had pine needles covering the roots. I quickly reached in and grabbed my GPS hoping that there was no critter waiting to bite me. Took FA-18 patch that a previous cacher left (either 11-4-04, or 4-11-04, can't remember) and the pirate. He was getting crowded out by all the other stuff in there. Left 3 pens, magnetic note clip, and ID card holder (all with various prescription drug brand names on them) and a small calculator. Thanks for an enjoyable hunt. Also, found a benchmark (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers) on the southbound span of the Rudee Inlet bridge on the way to the park. RIR-A at 36 49.866 N, 075 58.343 W.

Found general area, but I got to the park just before sundown (1747). I'd left my bicycle on the trail and continued walking. I turned on my red rear flasher and set a waypoint before I started walking to help me spot my bike. My digital thermometer read 34 degrees. I guess I didn't need to worry about mosquitos. I didn't find it because it was getting dark fast! Will try again early tomorrow.

Nice park and trails. Cache was in perfect shape and well hidden. Used the hunt to show some friends what it is all about. T/L: Where's George and Ronald Mcdonald / Digimon roller stamper and Virginia Beach key chain. Surprising to see that there have been no finders in so long. Thanks

did not find the cache, but only because we got carried off by the mosquitos. So, we gave up. Will try again the first day the temp hits 32. Love the Japanese garden. And the site is very nice.

Spending the weekend at Sandbridge, Ben and I decided to go for a hunt. Beautiful Spring day with lots of people on the ball fields and using the pavilions but no one on the trails. Went in circles a few times trying to stay on the trails but finally realized a little x-country was required. Ben found it after I walked right past with my eyes glued to the GPS. Took a golf ball left GPS food. Thanks for the fun.

I found this one today while in town on a business trip, nice park but it was kind of cold and wet so not to many people were around.

T/L Nothing S/L

The container lid doesn't snap on and the side of the container itself is cracked, it was dry inside but just thought I would mention it.

I was working in Virginia Beach for couple of days and took a break to look for cache. I use to live in the neighborhood adjacent to the park, and forgot about how noisy the jets are going into Oceania.

Had a dusting of snow, which made finding the cache a little challenging. Also tree cover kept getting in the way of the satellites. Went to retrieve geobug, but it is not there. Cache box is broken on one side, contents still in good shape.

Left cards, ball and pen took beads.

Nice little park! We didn't know it was there. Extrememly large spiders and rattlesnakes (my husband almost stepped on one!) GPS went a little wacky but we got in the general area and started snooping until we found it...covered very well with pine needles and logs. The cache was in good condition, though it was rather low on items. I took one of the dollars (it didn't say where's george but I'll check on it) and left a fun stamp set.

This one had us wandering around in circles for 45 minutes. We used our daughter as a reference point.. "ok, this is 0.0 distance and 40 feet circular error.. stand here.." GPS coverage was poor due to the canopy..Going to take the travelbug north...

FOUND IT AT LAST! On our 2nd attempt we finally got it. Our first attempt found us in the rain with a GPS that was going bonkers! Anyway, our Garmin e-trex took us within 10 ft of the treasure.
We took the purple stuffed cow and a black perfume bottle. We left some Z cards, a Coleman emergency blanket and a dragon figurine.

Thanks for a great hunt!

We thought this one would be really hard after reading the previous logs. After we went in a couple of small circles, the GPSR settled down and we basically walked right up to it. We took a $1 bill - there was no wheresgeorge.com marks on it so will have to check to see if its been logged. We left a squishy earth ball. We also kidnapped the travel bug!!!!

Nice spot. I got there just before the place closed. As I was heading onto the trail, one of the older gentlemen who worked at the park came by to inform us that the park was closing soon. He noticed the GPS hanging around my neck, Are ya'll some of those 'UPSers'? he asked. I corrected him, but it was really very amusing. Anyway, I took the screwdriver thing and the goldfish, and left the Kazooie traveler and the exxon tiger I picked up earlier from Bike/Hike False Cape cache.

I was lucky at this cache but not very good. Caching with only the map and clue (no gizmos), I miscalculated the bearing (declination is not my friend). I would have been circling about 60 meters north, except I saw another cacher rehiding the box. Maybe I would have figured out my mistake and headed to the right spot eventually... After figuring out what happened after finding the cache, I tried the correct bearing, according to the map. The bearing was from the map was exact, although the distance seemed short by my pace count.

Our second today. My daughter is hooked too... This was the treasure! Took the Taco Bell Toy and the post-its. We left a couple a key ring, ball, and a Bud opener.

We've been here in Va Beach for 15 years and have been camping at the KOA, golfing at Red Wing, and to the Naval Base at Dam Neck numerous times...this was the first trip to the park. Real neat place. We plan to go back at try another trail and pack a lunch.

I must have been the 2nd of 3 to find this today. It was my second try. I kept getting different readings. The sheet in the box had different numbers than what I got from geocaching.com. I am new at this so I am not sure what happened. Great location, took nothing but left a lime green tape measure I found out there....anybody want to claim it??

Greetings from New Jersey. Having a blast looking for the area caches on my vacation. Studied the trail map for a bit. Hmm ok. But when I actually went into the woods, the trails all came together in one big jumble of blazes. Heheh. GPS was having a bit of trouble under tree cover. The coord readout was jumpy. I was pretty lucky though. While moving northwards to correct my latitude, I walked right to the cache and spotted it. I hadn't even started looking at that time! It was almost completely covered with pine straw. The tiny bit of blue lid poking out was very noticeable, however. Took a toy soldier. Left some Where's George (http://www.wheresgeorge.com) dollar bills. Thanks.

Hi all,
I have tried for the past week to find this one 4 different times. It's making me nuts! Today I took my Brother in law again. He was unsuccessful with me a few time this past week too. I get close and then my legend etrex goes a little wacky. The directional stops pointing, but the distance to target keeps changing. I have walked all over this area with no luck. If anyone is in the area and can give this one a shot, let me know if it's still there? Tonight, we stayed at the park until we were unceremoniously thrown out of the park... but no luck.

I read at another site that someone who found it, covered it more thoroughly. Maybe the owner can check it out...

Thanks for a heck of a challenge.
Brian (PocketPC Guy)
