Jammerdal cache




Het Jammerdal is een voormalige klei- en zandgroeve en is omgevormd tot een natuurgebied.
Het is een afwisselend gebied. Een andere naam voor dit gebied is "Onderste en Bovenste Molen" (watermolens).
De Bovenste Molen is nu een bekend hotel. In de 18e eeuw werd door kleiwinning een lek in de beekbedding gestoten en het water verdween ondergronds. De Molenbeek werd dus onbruikbaar voor de Onderste Molen.
De cache is 5.5 km lang. Deze cache kan alleen wandelend of met een mountain bike gedaan worden, er is nl. veel rul zand.

Parkeer uw auto op de grote parkeerplaats van Klein Zwitserland (N 51°20.271 - E006°09.823)

Waypoint 1:
Op de parkeerplaats ziet u de Manege Heidehof van de R.V. De Heideruiters.
A is de som(oprichtingsjaar) (bv. 1953 => 1 + 9 + 5 + 3 = 18)
B is het getal in de lauwerkrans
Ga naar waypoint 2 op: N 51°20.((4*B)-A+5) - E006° 09.7(A+1)

Waypoint 2:
De Theresiakapel is een devotiekapel die door de familie Russel-De Rijk werd gebouwd ter ere van Theresia van Lisieux.
C is de som(bouwjaar)
De speeltuin en het park werden als werkverschaffingsproject onder minister Colijn aangelegd.
D is de som(aanlegjaar)
Ga naar waypoint 3 op: N 51°20.390 - E006°09.((9*B)+C-2)

Waypoint 3:
Op deze open plek net voor een bruggetje vindt u de oost-coördinaten xxx voor Waypoint 4 en het getal E. Onder deze bruggetjes liepen vroeger spoorbaantjes. Over deze spoorbaantjes werd klei van de kleigroeve naar de pannenfabrieken gebracht. Voor het derde bruggetje gaat u rechts af.

Waypoint 4:
Vind hier de noord-coördinaten yyy van waypoint 5 en het getal F.(Zie spoiler 1)

Waypoint 5:
In 54 voor Christus werden, volgens sommige historici, de Romeinen door de Eburonen hier in de pan gehakt. Zet de naam van hun leider om in cijfers (A=1, B=2, C=3 enz.) en neem de som (= G) van deze cijfers. Op de legenda onder de rubriek "bodemgebruik" vindt U "weide en populieren". Zet de bijbehorende letter om in een getal (= H).
Ga naar waypoint 6 op: N 51°20.H8F - E006°10.(H*(D+G-E))

Waypoint 6:
U staat hier op een grafveld uit de vroege ijzertijd (800-500 voor Christus). Oorspronkelijk moet de begraafplaats groter zijn geweest dan de (I) grafheuvels die er nu nog resten.
Ga naar waypoint 7 op: N 51°20.HE(E*E) - E006°10.(E+F)(I-E)(A-C)

Waypoint 7:
U gaat nu het Jammerdal verlaten, zoek nu eerst bij deze uitgang het cijfer K. Onderweg naar Waypoint 8 komt u een bord tegen met een telefoonnummer, welk cijfer (L) komt 3x voor in dit telefoonnummer.
Ga naar waypoint 8 op: N 51°20. FF(K-E) - E006°10.FK(K-F)

Waypoint 8:
Zoek bij dit hekwerk de noord-coördinaten zzz van de cache.

Cache op: N 51°20.(zzz-69) - E006°10.(B+E+L+G-9)





Jammerdal cache




The "Jammerdal" (Jammer = lament - dal = valley) is a former clay and sand pit and is converted to a wild live area. It is an alternated area. Another name for this area is "Lower and Upper Mill" (watermills). The Upper Mill (Bovenste Molen) is a well-known hotel. In the 18the century the brook bed was damaged the water faded away under the ground because of the winning of clay.The Mill brook (Molenbeek) became useless for the Lower Mill.
The cache is 5.5 km long. This cache can only done by foot or mountain bike. There is much loose sand.

Park your car on the parking lot of Klein Zwitserland (N 51°20.271 - E006°09.823)



Waypoint 1:
On the parking lot you find the Manege "Heidehof" owned by R.V. De Heideruiters.
A is the sum (foundation year = sinds) (for example 1953 => 1 + 9 + 5 + 3 = 18)
B is the number in the laurel wreath
Go to waypoint 2 on: N 51°20.((4*B)-A+5) - E006°09.7(A+1)

Waypoint 2:
The "Theresiakapel" is a devotion chapel build by the family Russel-De Rijk in honour of Theresia of Lisieux.

The playground and park are made in an unemployment relief work project under minister Colijn.
D is the sum(construction year = aanlegjaar)

Waypoint 3:
Find on the open place for a little bridge the East-coordinate xxx for Waypoint 4 and the number E.
Under the bridges there was a small railway. Clay was transported from the clay pit to the roof tile factories. By the third bridge you go right.

Find here the North-coordinate yyy of waypoint 5 and the number F. (See spoiler 1)

Waypoint 5:
In 54 B.C. the Romans where here complete finished off by the Eburonen here, according some historians.
Replace the name of leader in numbers (A=1, B=2, C=3 enz) and take the sum (= G) of these numbers.

Waypoint 6:
You are standing on a graveyard from the early iron era (800-500 B.C.). The original graveyard must be bigger then the (I) remaining grave hills (= grafheuvels).

Waypoint 7:
You are known leaving the "Jammerdal" look first for the number K. Walking to waypoint 8 you will pass a sign with a telephone number. In the telephone number a number (L) is found 3 times.

Waypoint 8:
Look by the fence for the North-coordinate zzz of the cache.

We failed!!!!
We found the small bridge but we couldn't find the East-coordinate. At the third bridge we went right until the end of that way but there was nothing to help.
But anyway we had a nice walk!

FTF(TY)*

Als ik de kapel zag moest ik meteen aan de Kapellen-Cache denken. Het was een leuke wandeling door een prachtig natuur gebied. In het Jammerdal waren er velen mensen onderweg. De wegpunten waren goed te vinden. Alleen bij de grafheuvel en bij de cache moest ik iets langer zoeken.

Together with DocW we went out for this track. Beautiful weather and an interesting landscape made it a quite pleasant trip. Even , we had been the first visitors which we hadn't expected
