The 5th cache in Amherst's Nature View Park, (three not listed on Navicache.com) a little known 1264 Acre undeveloped park, slightly larger than Chestnut Ridge Park, believe it or don't.

Although parking on a public street in Amherst (Phillip Drive) is very much legal, and there is a clearly marked trailhead into the park at the dead-end, the residents of this quiet dead-end street (Phillip Drive) are not used to strangers parking in front of their houses to accesss the park; please be as discrete as possible.

Did I mention you should park on Phillip Drive? Please try to park a little ways down from the dead-end, to avoid everyone parking in front of the same two houses at the dead-end. No matter where you park on Phillip Drive, I highly recommend you waypoint your vehicle, as you will be traveling on a maze of unmarked ATV trails.

This is a 2-leg multi cache, the first leg being a micro, the final a larger container hidden in typical geocaching fashion. Both legs are not far from trails. Stay on the trails until it is absolutely necessary to bushwack, don't even think about bushwacking otherwise.

The goofy cache name is a line from an old Seinfeld episode (with sound intro by Kosmo Kramer), and will give you a clue as to the type of container you are looking for on the final leg.

ATV trails in the park are eternally muddy, I recommend rubber boots all times of the year. Round trip distance is slightly less than 1 mile, as the crow flies, but keep in mind you're no crow :-).

Found while out doing some heavy winter caching in the area.

Parked on Philips and made my way to stage one. A dog walking neighbor snuck up behind me in the blizzard and screamed when she noticed me in the woods there. After all how likely are you to encounter anyone in Nature View in an epic snowstorm. I explained to her what I was doing and talked to her for a while befrore heading back to my search.

After not turning up anything for about 40 minutes, even after I read the "spoiler" hint, I decided to give up and head on to "Master and Commander." Heck, my GPSr in my hand was not even in plain sight today. So then after DNFing stage one of "Master" and talking to a previous finder of this one I headed back and searched another 20+ minutes for this. Finally, and I am pretty sure it was dumb luck, I got it and it was off to the final.

Found the final with little trouble.
This was a nice hike and a great introduction to Nature View Park.

No Trade - TFTC - Nice Hide.

Man, this place is a mess after the October 2006 freak snowstorm. But I checked today (slow going with a the downed trees and brush), and this cache is good to go.

OK, when I found this cache ages ago, the cache name didn't really mean much to me. Today I was visiting the folks for the holiday and they had Seinfeld on TV. I wasn't paying much attention until I heard those magic words and my ears perked right up... I get it now - *very* funny :P (Obviously I don't watch much Seinfeld!)

This was a fun hunt. I've been to the part of the park on Tonawanda Creek, but I never knew that all *this* was around! With the exception of a couple of potholes made by the ATV's, the hike was pretty un-muddy. Saw a few deer, which is no big deal, except that one had antlers. I never seem to see the deer with antlers :)

I walked past the first leg at least five times before I saw it (duh!) and found the second part pretty easily. The cache was pretty exposed. I made sure I covered it well before I left. I took two buttons and the 'Where's George' dollar and left two new 'Where's George' dollars.

And thanks for the reminder to waypoint the car. I *always* forget to do that...

Stopped by the cache page to get a Kosmo Kramer background sound clip up and running. Yes Skeeterbait2, congrats for finding a way to log this one. This cache is members only on that other geocaching website, but is available for the whole world to see here, free of charge!
