Black Creek Park...You can find Entrance on Route 259, 1/2 mile south of route 33A

This Cache is a .50cal ammo box (retired)containing a single use camera for you to take a picture of yourself or group.
Also contains a Hitchhiker M&M Dude that I would like for any person who intends on placing a cache in the very near future to take back and place in that cache. I want to see how far I can get the fellow. If you can, please take a picture of him where you place him in his new location, then I will add that to the site when you send it to me. There are several other very nice items of great Interest as well as the Logbook. Please!...if you take an item I would be happy if you replaced it with another.

Now the location... This cache is located within the "Black Creek Park". A very nice as well as large park with several trails that run you through some very nice scenic areas. Bring your family along on this one as there is a brand new play ground for the kids to use as well as ponds and a creek to do some nice fishing. If you wish to see more of the location and park contents visit this following link http://www.co.monroe.ny.us/parks/parkmaps/bcreek.gif I have included pictures of the cache as well as pictures to give you some good hints. I will mark the pictures that will help you a great deal in your search, so only look at those if you want clues!

Some areas are a tiny bit wet at the time I placed this, so wear some light boots if you intend on searching. Nice easy walk and light Terrain. cache was named by my seven year old daughter!

By the way...I was with a friend when this cache was placed and we completely filled two plastic Garbage Bags with bottles and cans on the way out ( Left one cache, Cleaned an Entire Area!)

I've always meant to check this one out but never seemed to have the opportunity to get down to Black Creek Park. Today I was driving right by and had to stop in. Cache was found easily since I could see it from the trail (someone else had stumbled onto it after CTO1950). Signed in and hid it better than it was found.

Thanks for the hide! Always enjoy signing in on a cache that dates back to 2001! And thanks to CTO1950 for letting me know this was definitely still in play!

Nurse Sarah (my wife and I did not A. Know about Navicache.com as we have been using Geocaching.com. Today she was out placing a Kid Friendly Cache in the park and we had a couple hides left to log off of this trail. When we were hiking she started looking for a couple other good hiding places and stumbled first on a discarded letter box hide full of dirt and ants and soggy goo. Then I pointed her at another spot without ants and we found a cache we were not looking for. We signed the log and had to wait to get home to figure out how to log it. Interesting, the cache is in good shape except for the PI that is over growing the area.

Out for a walk in the park on a beautiful almost-spring day, passed by the cache site and remembered it from first finding it eight years ago. Looked to see if it was still there, found it in good shape, log book clean and dry and no mildew, contents OK. Took and left nothing, left note in log. Hid it a little better than it was, re-arranged material covering it in a more random, natural-looking manner, it was pretty obvious something was hidden there when I found it.

Was a nice easy find which is what I needed to fit into a lunchtime walk. Always glad not too have to bushwhack too much at this park. The log had several entries for people who stumbled upon this cache. One from a benchmarker, multiples from orienteering people and one just stumbled onto it. Cache is still in good shape and hidden according to the clue. Thanks for the fun!

Since my usual trails are closed for hunting season (bleh) I had hoped to spend the day at Black Creek Park, walking and caching and taking pictures of birdies. My job had another set of plans for me, though, and I didn't get out as early as I'dhoped. I went after this cache right away and headed south to check out the multi's in another section - but I ran out of daylight and this was my sole cache of the day. No pictures, either, although I did see a gorgeous huge pileated woodpecker which was a first for me! Oh, yeah, the cache - found it easily enough and everything's in good shape. It's a pleasure to find a venerable cache such as this one in such fine shape. I took a popper thingy for safety's sake and left a special Disney promo item that I've been saving for a worthy cache. Thanks for giving me a chance to log a find despite the time constraints!

13th of 13 today.

I've been stressed out at work lately, and I finally had a chance to take some time off after working late hours & weekends.

I printed out this listing from the geocaching.come website (although it's listed as archived there.) I thought I checked this site as well for it, but I guess I didn't. Which is why I was surprised there were a number of recent logs on this cache, including one yesterday.

Lately I've been looking for archived caches when I go out for a day of caching because often they are archived "for personal reasons" (like this one), archived because the owner thought it was missing and was too lazy to check it (when it was still there), or just exited the sport and retired all their caches.

It's fun to find an archived cache, although in this case it was only archived on one site.

Cache is in fine shape, and was easy to find once I was on the proper side of the trail.

Thanks for the hide!

Was here 2 days ago and DNF, after bushwhacking .3 miles at dusk. Found the USGS survey marker, and wasn't sure if that was the cache or not.

Came back tonight with family & found it in no time. Surprising how easy it is when you come at it from the right direction !!

Strange: I headed for this NaviCache exclusive because the postings below indicated I'd missed this one over the years, yet as I dodged the raindrops in Black Creek Park, the route sure looked familiar. There was a freshly broken branch at the trail turnoff and a few yards in, I knew I had been here before. The ammo box seems to have moved a little deeper off the trail and my Garmin III+ read 90 feet. Look at my pic: there's a tree on the left side of the cache, just above my GPS. Look at Quinn's original pic: where's the tree? I opened the cache and saw that I had logged in exactly 4 years ago. Very strange.

What a great spot for a cache! Well off the main trail and well hidden. It was starting to rain so I wasn't able to make a complete log entry. I was holding off on this one because I wanted it for my 100th find but then I heard three cachers couldn't find it and thought it was missing, I had to search for it myself. It is #90 for me. Thanks Quinn! Took Skeleton Walker, Left Mini Flashlight, Signed BIG logbook.

Was in the area for a NYGO Board meeting and just HAD to try one of the cache offerings from the famous Quinn! Took the steep climb up the sledding hill, and found the cache easily after avoiding a group of teenagers in the area. Did a little clean-up on the cache by removing some old wrappers from previous swag and a couple inappropriate items, and replaced the ziplock bag for the logbook, Dropped in a few trade items to top the can back off and tucked it back in it's hiding spot.
Thanks for a pleasant afternoon hike.

With a housefull of grandkids on an Easter candy sugar high, decided to take the four oldest (6 to 11) and their dads on an after dinner cache hunt to burn off some energy. Set a goto on the MAP330 and let Andrew, the 11 year old lead the way. Found the cache easily, swapped three gold dollars for a golf ball, a CD, and a piece of barbed wire; I also took traveller Bernie to go in my next cache. The trip up the hill and back diminished my energy level significantly, but had no noticeable effect on the kids. Back home for coffee and dessert, and more jelly beans and Peeps for the kids (and more bouncing off the walls).

By the way, there is a USGS Survey Marker in the area, about 20 feet from the cache, if you're after those as well.

Hey! This was our second cache of the day. We found the No Exit cache then left to find this and the Down in the Dumps cache.

We arrived at the Black creek Park to be greeted by many happy sledders. We were so amazed at this (as there was only and inch or 2 of snow we don't sled unless there is at least 10 of snow and in the Buffalo area this seems to happen often) that we started our walk at the top of this hill. We didn't have to walk in far before Fearless told us to turn. Eversure darted in and within 45 seconds yelled I found it!. The cache was in great shape and I was glad for a place to sit and write in the log book. The cache was in fine shape. We took a quarter, alien key chain and a roll of film. The box had room for more items and my backpack was rather heavy so we left a new large white swetshirt, a mini robot dog and a Backstreet boys CD.
