This part of the Passaic River north of the Dundee Dam is known as Dundee Lake. This cache is hidden on a small peninsula.

The coordinates atop this page are not for the cache; they are for a very nice climbing tree approximately .13 mile from the cache. In order to increase the challenge just a little, I'm providing the actual coordinates for the cache to only two decimal places.

The cache is located at:

N 40 53.44

W 74 07.82

Part of the challenge is figuring out "how to get there from here." The only hint I will provide is that I parked to the east of the cache site.

Although the terrain is basically flat, this cache is unsuitable (too difficult) for young children. Long sleeves, long pants and boots are highly recommended.

The cache is hidden in plain view.

Good luck and have fun!

The previous logger obviously didn't make much of an effort, because I found this cache today in excellent condition. There was no trespassing involved.

I'm a visitor from Geocaching.com and let me say that I'm appalled that this cache was even put out there. After trespassing to get even remotely close to the cache site and bushwhacking through reeds taller than an NBA basketballer, I got to the end of the island only to find out the cache site was underwater! I even waded in but as far as I could tell, the cache was gone. That area floods frequently and the cache is probably halfway to hell by now. If I hadn't taken my shoes off I probably would have had hypothermia setting in by now.
