Cache box is about a 3lb plastic planters peanut jar wedged into it's spot, filled with small trinkets and log book. Sign the Log Book and exchange small trinkets.
This is a nice short walking path along the Silver Lake outlet. Perhaps once traversed by Mary Jemison on her way to the Letchworth Park area in 1758. It is definitely a Rail Road bed that took travelers to the Silver Lake Walker recreational area. Many travelers from all over the world hoped to catch sight of the famous Silver Lake Sea Serpent. When searching for this cache please enter the wooded area at an angle that starts about 90' to 100' from the cache. ( See the clue.) Avoid making a right angle path directly to the cache. The wooded area is only about 75 feet deep so a straight line path would attract unwanted attention. Plus, I don't want you to disturb the snake I saw guarding the spot where a direct path might be created. |

Open Log: Personal use only I was on my way home for lunch and I thought I would give this one a try. I read that my friend ecody had found this the day before so I couldn't let him one up me. As I arrived there was a light rain in the air so I made a beeline to the coordinates. Found it in less than 5 minutes and was glad I did as the rain was beginning to pick up a bit. I took the lighter and left a dollar because the cache is pretty full and there was not much room in it for what I had in my backpack.I logged in my visit and made tracks for my truck. Very nice hide and lots of fun searching for this one. - Paleoman52

This was a fun cache (which begs the question, why aren't there more in Perry!?!). I had a little trouble finding the parking area, but once I did some recon (and went off-roading (unintentionally)), I was on the right path.

The old railroad bed makes a very easy approach to this hide. On this day the only other person that we saw was a man fishing in the Silver Lake Outlet. Very clever hide. Took nothing; left Star Wars Toy. Signed log and rehid.

A nice trail - beautiful day. Path up the hill was well hidden. It took us a while to find it - we'd all walked past it several times before we noticed it. We took 'Ttraveling Barbie' to move along on her journey. Thanks for the trail. Adventuring Lovers - Nancy & Jay

4th of 5 finds today. Nice level walk for a change. Had to go past cache and come back as there was a couple of kids standing on the trail next to the cache. Had excellent sats and coordinates were right on, but your choice of a hiding spot had us thinking we were going to be skunked. Knew we were there cause the sats weren't bouncing around at all. Kept saying only a few feet at worst. Finally got lucky. Nice hide. Signed log book, took nothing, left nothing.

I wasn't first but I had a lovely time. I got intimately close with flora there. The pathway is undergoing some maintenence with tree cutting and flower planting in preparation for the summer season of hikers, bikers & cachers. A very nice walk for the most part. Thank you Gamma Kitt & Coyote.
