The above coordinates will take you to the interesction of two roads. Beyond this location and on a Private Road, was once the First Platt of Port Orchard, WA. and the site of a sawmill and shipyard.

Due to a major fire, it was never rebuilt. No remains exist at this time, however a dedication plaque has been erected at this location. This site is now occupied by several homes just up the road from where I live.

I understand that the guys from Sidney stole the public records from the county seat and ran them home then renamed Sidney, Port Orchard. I always thought that was from the vicinity of the mill, but it may have been from the site west of Bremerton.
