I've been thinking about this cache for a while now and have finally gotten around to placing it.
The cache is located in a place called Hidden Valley.
Hidden Valley, a substantial mountain bowl, was for centuries a favored hunting ground for Indians, trappers and the early pioneers. Populations of Rocky Mountain sheep, deer, elk and other game animals used the area for spring forage or relief from the heat of the summer. (source: Forest Service web site)
To start off, park at the 22nd Street trail head. Make your way up Indian Trail. When you reach N 41° 13.941' W111° 55.345' there should be a trail that branches off to the right and goes up hill, this is Hidden Valley Trail.
The trail is fairly steep, but well defined. The cache is almost exactly 2 miles up along the trail and you gain about 1700-ish feet during the hike. There is also a good resting place about half way up, where you can catch your breath and take in the view.
The container is a half sized ammo box in it's original olive drap paint. Original items include: "The Healing Herbs" by Michael Castleman, a bald eagle statue, first aid kit, emergency poncho, stuffed penguin, "Go Army" lanyard, fishing lure, 2 AA batteries, a B-1 bomber toy from the Hill AFB air show, log book with pencil, pen and sharpener.
Oh, and bring water, you'll need it.
