I've always been interested in finding this hide, unfortunately I only get out this way maybe once or twice a year. Today I made it a priority to find it. I got to the park around quarter after eight this morning and made the find quickly. It was cool to see the original log entries and I had fun reading some of them. I TNLNSL, thanks for this "old school" cache and the interesting history lesson. Thanks!

What a nice little park! I have been by here many many times and always wanted to stop. Sadly, there is almost always so much going on that I never get to stop at 99% of things I drive by half the time (I eye up the tractor museum everytime too...haha). So today, Chicky and I decided to take a nice little drive and finally stop by at the 1779 Memorial Tree cache.

We had a fun time wandering around. When we got to the cache area our GPS was reading a little off, but standing there it was fairly obvious where we should look - and in no time we had the cache in hand. We spent a few minutes pawing through the goodies, and I decided to leave 3 TB's as I realized I had quite the TB stockpile going on! Of course, Chicky wanted to pick up the Bills TB...but hey, 3 for 1 isn't too bad.

Thanks Gamma Kitt and Coyote for another nice cache. After micro hunting (which always wears me out...haha), it's always a great treat to find an ammo box in the woods - my favorite kind of cache! Thanks for a great time!

This has always been a favorite place of mine. It was fun to find a cache hidden here, you have to wonder what other secrets are hidden here in last 300 years. Took the E cable and left a nice little deer antler. - Paleoman52

Knew where the tree was so was easy to find but it was a shame that they are cutting down other trees in this little park. After admiring the "torture tree" we went looking for cache and found it after about 5 minutes of looking. Left a skiing M & M figure and took a Brat doll. This was our first experience. Look forward to future finds. Cropman & Tigger

Cache in good shape. TN/ left 2 AA batteries. The tree in question is a burr oak. Its acorns have burrs on the order of a horse chestnut. Thanks for the cache.

Found this one on our way back from a Letchworth geo hunt.
I remember hearing the story of this place years ago, finally had an excuse to stop and read the plaques. TN left Shopping Lady from Texas. Thanks for the cache.

Found this one on the way home from the Letchworth Gathering. Dvand warned me of a trip hazard. After finding the cache and logging in, I took care of the trip. This should now be safe for all ages. TNLNSL.

I am new to Geocaching. This was the second find for myself and my nine year old granddaughter. We live in the area and have gone past this site several times and never knew it was a park. We found the inscription on the rock very interesting. I walked past the tree but Megan spotted the tree and the cache. We took a stuffed elephant and left a bag of polished river stones.

Wow, probably the most logs I've seen on a Navicache page, especially since I'm the first logging it here in almost 1.5 years! Found it totally exposed after the winter snow melt, but grabbed lots of bark to cover. Thanks.

I had a few complaints about a messy cache box. I replaced the whole cache box and put the Log Book into a fresh clean plastic bag. I removed the camera. So now we have a full clean box again ready to find. Thanks to all that tipped me off about the mess, it was my fault; don't put a can of oil in a cache box, it will leak! Just missed Cracker7M...that must have been him pulling out as I was pulling in. Used to frequent this park about 20 years ago...was a great place to hang. Thanks for bringing me back. Took nothing but memories, left nothing but my word.

Second find of my career. Had a day off so I went caching for a while. Found this hide in short order. Took nothing left nothing. Date of this find was 9/11/02.

Found this cache while with two other future cachers, we were returning from the Dansville Balloon Rally. Enjoyed the history lesson and the tree, it's amazing seeing something thats been around for so long, the stories it could tell. Cache was found with ease, coordinates were right on, took and left nothing. Thanx!!

Camping at Letchworth this past weekend. We decided to look for this cache on the way up to Meyers. Nice little spot and some interesting history. Took only a picture. Thanks for the fun.

Nice little stop on my way from letchworth to Rochester. Roadkill had told me the story about the tree. Pretty interesting and gruesome.

Took a mini foam football and left baseball cards. Snapped a picture, only 1 pic left. Also grabbed the TB that was there.

A very nice park with an important history lesson. It was quite buggy in the bushes - so we made a quick exit and then continued to wander and read the plaques. We took the Kachin' Keychain Katcher for another leg in its journey. thanks for the adventure.

Quick stop on way home from Silver Lake. Have passed by this park many times before. Found at 6:20PM by Madi. Took her 2 minutes from time we got out of the van. Complete 6-pack present.

Took chips and tape measure. Left bottle of well-needed Bug Repellant, a finger-puppet Monster, patriotic Bead-buddy lizard and a lei.

Had to check out the HUGE tree before leaving park!

  Found Cache among the Skeeters!

Very nice spot..Mosquitos even think so...all 50 million of them!! Balloonpilot, Chickenlips
and Roadkill visited this cache today but Roadkill was acting photographer as he'd already
found this cache earlier this year. We had a little bit of trouble but eventually came to our
senses.. Very nice spot Gamma Kitt & Coyote...very nice indeed. Roadkill took 2 pictures with
the cache camera and it is now on #13 after winding. We took the puzzle and left a hacky
sack. We decided that we should also take the travelbug Ima Webfoot... We will place this
travelbug in a cache in our neighborhood very soon. Thanks for the nice cache..

Found it at 1:30 pm. It is a big tree. Took nothing, left nothing.

We had fun with this find. We even took our Geo-dog along for the ride. Nice weather and nice piece of history.

Did this after Rattlesnake Hill Cache by Rocky. Needed a short walk - and it was. Enjoyed the tree No trouble finding cache. Signed the book. Took nothing. Took our picture, think it was #22. Thanks for the bit of history and nature combined.

Stopped at the park on the way home from work and found it with no problem. I made the mistake of peeking at the topo but compensated by not using the GPS. This is a nice one for beginners and a history lesson too. Took picture 24 and took a "Woody the Bear" traveler. Left two serialized Road Kill dollars. The only down side - Rocky got to sign the book first.

Did you expect it could have been anyone else to log it FIRST?? During the winter when I saw that fellow cacher Lighthouserocket had placed a 2part cache starting at Ambuscade Park in Groveland I expected the second part of that cache to have taken me to your historical location for this cache. I enjoyed my visit very much as I had done some recent reading about the park at the time of my visit to the Ambuscade Park. The tree is spectacular. I measured the circumference at 22 feet!!! While visiting the old growth forest that was written up in the Democrat and Chronicle this past fall at the South end of Hemlock Lake the largest tree I found there was ONLY 9 feet in circumference. Your coordinates are right on, thank you, I enjoyed it very much.
