This is a replacement for the original "Creekside" cache, which was stolen in 2003. This cache is placed in the same general area, but in a less accessible spot farther down the creek. There is an open meadow with tall vegetation to cross, with only a few deer trails. Please walk single-file and follow the deer trails when possible to keep from beating the area up too much, and to keep from establishing an obvious trail to the cache site.

Maps are queued for generation.

The cache is located very near Black Creek in the Town of Chili, about ten miles west of Rochester, NY, and is in a black .30 cal retired ammo box with “NAVICACHE” stenciled on the sides. Contents include an electronic game, a Pez dispenser, a Brinkman type flashlight, and a bunch of garage sale odds and ends, along with a log book to sign.

The cache is accessible from public town property, a park that’s recently opened, with a large parking lot. Please respect private property in the area, and access the cache ONLY from the town park (or with a canoe or raft launched from upstream at Black Creek Park). Please DON’T try to access the cache by crossing the creek! The opposite bank is all residential private property!

The cache box is fairly well hidden, near the creek. Please return it to same location and condition as you found it. As always in western NY, watch for poison ivy! I didn't see any in the immediate area of the cache, but there's some nearby.

Have fun!

Never been over into this area. Nice spot for a hide. Many mosquitoes today. TNLN. Thanks for leading us to this area.

Glad to see this cache is back. Remember doing the original one before the houses were there. Took nothing, left nothing.

The “Great” WhiteUrkel and I just had to do some caching along the way, up towards Durand Park. The WhiteUrkel just had to stop by and do this one, when he herd that the original was MIA. First of many finds for the day. We, (Urkel – claimed the Huckle Buckle), found it rather easy. Thanks for the nice hike and cache. T/0 L/0 S/L

As one of the small handful of finders of the original Creekside, this was a logical first choice on my way to Rochester. Parked in the same spot as I did 1.5 years ago, and made the trek, out with SF1. I took the Obi Wan Travel bug from the gc.com side, left nothing. Thanks for placing the replacement cache.

Saw this post two days ago. Got lucky and was the FTF. It's nice to see this one "return". T: Flashlight, L: Playing cards.
