Welcome to the Lagunas

Originally the starting point for the Grubbers' Sodus Traveling Cache (thanks to Red-N-Larry and Dusty Dawg), when the spot became available, I felt it was an excellent place for a permanent cache. It's another beautiful spot just off the trail in the Laguna Meadows area.

This is a major hiking, biking and equestrian thoroughfare so there are numerous starting points for this one. My choice for a parking place is just outside the entrance to the El Prado Group Camp N32 53.448 W116 26.916. If you don't plan on using a camp or picnic site, you can save $5 by parking here and walking in. From this spot the hike is just about 1.65 miles on a easy to follow trail. There is a gradual rise at one spot but nothing too strenuous.

Had just hit "secret canyon" before coming here. The campground was closed because of fire danger but the hosts said that since I was just hiking I could go ahead.
Nice hike with great meadow views. It's to bad the lake was dry but I wish I would have taken my camera anyway, there were some very photogenic areas. Truly a pleasant walk. Got the cache around 5:30 and realized it would be getting dark while I was doing "Cedar Creek Falls" which proved to me a much bigger problem then I though as you'll see from that log.
Took $1.50 and Jellie Bellies (I usually avoid food items in caches, really shouldn't be there anyway, but I was hungry and love Jellie Bellies) and left San Diego Padre baseball cards.
