A simple virtual cache that was thrown together during down time at the annual Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tourney, June 2004. The cache requires you to visit the statues of three historical figures (within a short proximity of each other), and record the name and some facts on each.
The cache was placed with the streets closed down for the weekend, but traffic will definately be a problem during weekdays. The cache is available 24/7, and the best time would probably be evenings or weekends. The terrain, while easy, is not handicap acessable, hence the 1.5 star rating. Plenty of paid and free parking nearby, but none in the immediate vicinity of the statues. HISTORICAL FIGURE NO. 1 N 42 Deg. 53.241' W 078 Deg. 52.759' HISTORICAL FIGURE NO. 2 N 42 Deg. 53.212' W 078 Deg. 52.733' HISTORICAL FIGURE NO. 3 N 42 Deg. 53.181' W 078 Deg. 52.744' Send the answers to the above questions to me via the navicache.com emailer (click on the little icon next to my username near the top of this page; you must be logged in to do this, or the icon won't be there!). Permission to log not necessary, but logs without an email will be deleted. This cache is listed only here on Navicache.com, and GPSgames.org; no where else. |

Open Log: Non-commercial use only I saw this hadn't been logged in over 3 years so I thought I would it would be fun to get another log in there. Went for a bike ride downtown on this cold windy morning and took care of this. Some of the architecture and statuary we have in this city is amazing. Thanks for setting this up!

Open Log: Personal use only Well, I guess it is really worth putting out Navicache only virtuals, as Exit Mundi is the 6th finder of this cache in slighty over a year. (At least in Buffalo or Rochester, it's worth it). Yeah, I'm sure the coords are off, being downtown with all the tall buildings. I also note the same in my Downtown "Shutterspots" on GPSgames.org. Thanks to all who have visited.

Open Log: Unrestricted We got to the first statue just as the huge downpour started. We managed to find all statues easily, but I must say, unless my GPS was off in accuracy, the coords were somewhat off. Have seen all of these statues many times before. Near the second statue, we had to crouch in the bushes and kick out some homeless people (just kidding LOL) to escape the pouring rain. TFTC and the great walk in the rain.

Open Log: Personal use only Just found the downtown statues. I've been working downtown for 8 years and go to this area once in a while, and never knew these statues were here! It's great having a cache in downtown. I hope someone can place more someday. Email is sent, TFTC.

Gee second to find after Strikeforce1! Only one Urkel cache left to do! This is a heck of a lot better than some of the lame virts that are grandfathered in on the other site. Thanks Urkel.

Well, I finally got a break and did this today 07/05/04. I saw it on my first page on Saturday and decided I will try and go after it once the “Rock Jam” was over today in downtown Buffalo. I had to take the better-half’s auto, due to loosing the transmission on my transporter yesterday while fixing my cache down in Emery Pk. I hope this is going to be the FTF. If so, it will be three FTF’s and a close second ( by less than three minutes) in back to back finds. Area in need of major CITO after the Rock Jam. Maybe the city will work tonight. If not, we need to convert them ;) to cachers. An email will follow with the answers required. Thanks for the hide. Strikeforce1 *out-and-about*
